The Cultural and Media Committee of the Youth Welfare Department of the Faculty of Girls organized a workshop entitled “The Art of Journalistic Writing” on Monday and Tuesday 17-18/10/2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the conference hall of the literary building. The training was conducted by Dr. Rasha Sayed Saeed, a teacher in the Sociology Department, Media Division, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Amira Ahmed Youssef, Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Dr. Mai Helmy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Ghada Moussa, Director of Youth Welfare, and Professor Hanan Abdel Moneim, Head of the Department and Activity Officer.
The workshop dealt with the basics of journalistic work, and explained and clarified the difference between the different press forms such as (press release, press dialogue, press investigation, press report, article), and the students were practically trained on how to write all these forms and how to implement press dialogues in all its types.
The workshop also dealt with the concept of investigative journalism and the definition of citizen journalism, and the difference between paper journalism and electronic journalism was clarified in terms of form, content and journalistic performance during them. It also shed light in detail on the concept and importance of electronic journalism, clarifying its advantages and disadvantages, the challenges it faces, and the services it provides to the public, with an explanation of the characteristics and qualities that a distinguished journalist should possess.
