The seminar was delivered by staff of war Engineer Ahmed Zaki Abdeen, one of the heroes of the October War, Minister of Local Development, Governor of Beni Suef and Kafr El-Sheikh, former commander of the Military Engineers Corps and military attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty, expressed his happiness for the participation of Major General Staff Ahmed Zaki Abdeen in the commemoration of the 6th of October this year, as he brought to mind the glories and heroisms of the valiant Egyptian armed forces, which gave a harsh lesson that will not be forgotten by the Israeli enemy.

Major General Ahmed Zaki Abdeen also explained that the process of storming the Suez Canal was impossible in the eyes of many people. Rather, it required many tactical atomic bombs, so the Israeli enemy imagined that the operation to succeed requires the capabilities of both the American and Russian Corps of Engineers, as stated on In the words of Moshe Dayan, the Israeli Minister of Defense at the time, but victory came from God in October 1973, with God's help first, then through the sacrifices of all sectors of the state and the engineering thought of the Egyptian Corps of Engineers, whether they were military or civilian.

He added that the October war succeeded with God's success, then the strength of training and genius planning, even though the machinery and equipment used were primitive, modest, and much less than the enemy's machinery and equipment.

Major General Abdeen pointed out that Sinai is still a target of the Israeli enemy so far, so it is necessary to secure Sinai by rebuilding it with people.

His Excellency also invoked the sacrifice, heroism and redemption of the martyr Major General Ahmed Hamdi, who was not sitting in the command center, but was always in the theater of operations until he was martyred among his soldiers.

He also spoke about the success of the decisions of the late martyr President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, a man of war and peace. He also praised the role of the late President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak and his great role when he was in charge of the air force in the Egyptian army.

He also recommended to the students the necessity of visiting the Suez Canal to see the site of the operations of the October war on the ground and to evoke the heroism and glories of their ancestors because it is part of the history and heroism of this country.

At the end of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini gifted the shield of the Faculty to His Excellency Major General Ahmed Zaki Abdeen for his participation of the students of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University in commemorating the glorious October memory of this year.
