Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, confirmed that in the context of Ain Shams University's endeavor to transform into fourth-generation universities, it was necessary to pay attention to innovation and creativity as one of the main pillars, so the university chose a central point in the heart of its campus as the headquarters of the Center for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship, I hub, surrounded by All faculties, allowing them to exchange ideas and visions, and it is the first innovation and creativity center at an Egyptian public university, in line with the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

He added that the center seeks to empower entrepreneurs in Egypt by raising the creativity and entrepreneurship spirit of Ain Shams University students, faculty members, creators, makers, economic developers and technological innovators, as the university, in cooperation with its strategic partners, provides a collaborative environment designed to stimulate the creation and incubation of emerging companies and accelerate the growth of the existing economy. on innovation in Egypt.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini explained that Ain Shams is inventing a competition launched by the university 3 years ago and organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center to embrace creative and innovative ideas by students, young graduates, young researchers and the supporting body who are fused with their colleagues in startups and others, pointing out that the aim of the competition is to spread the culture of innovation and leadership. Business at the university and work to discover innovators who have ideas suitable for projects to stand with them to establish start-up companies within the university and with their participation, which adds to the university and its research centers as well as adds to the national economy.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini confirmed that the competition is on an impressive rise, as the current edition witnessed the competition of 500 teams from different faculties, including 190 researchers’ ideas. Qualifiers were held to bring the number to 100 teams, who joined a training camp to help them develop their ideas and develop a roadmap for establishing their startups. Then the qualifiers were conducted again, bringing the number of winning teams to 29, stressing that each participant is a winner by attending the training and going through the experience that gained him many skills, explaining that he will work with the winners, especially researchers to develop their ideas and establish startup companies within the university, where these companies will Which provides innovative solutions, one of the additions that the university offers to the Egyptian economy to achieve the desired growth and achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030, and it is also one of the foundations of the fourth generation universities that the university is turning to.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud stressed that Ain Shams innovates and achieved the dream that made the university community one community working together, as it was able to bring together the various sectors of the university in cooperation and harmony, as well as the university faculties, students and faculty members.

He thanked Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, for his adoption of this idea and his constant support for new ideas, and he also thanked the management of Ain Shams Higher University, for its support for this dream, which became a reality on the ground.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh said that the Ain Shams competition innovates in line with the plans of Ain Shams University to support the knowledge economy, pointing out that the competition over its three years witnessed a remarkable development, as it included several tracks, in addition to an increase in the number of participating colleges, as all colleges of the university are represented in the third edition of the competition, in addition to changing the concept of innovation to include innovations for the humanities, literary and social sciences, adding that the competition included creative ideas, topics and research projects that will become the basis on which the sessions of the next annual university conference will be built.

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh stressed that Ain Shams University's role is to help innovators, and to open and knock all doors that support their ideas, whether with internal bodies such as various state bodies, ministries, the Federation of Industries, the Association of Businessmen, private companies and others, or with external parties.

At the conclusion of his speech, he thanked all those in charge of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Employment Center, the Training Center, the arbitration committees and the training officials for their role in the Ain Shams Innovate competition.

First Place Musheer: is a web and mobile application to help deaf people and their families in the Arab world learn Arabic sign language through the convenience of PC/mobile devices.

Motorism: An online store that sells auto parts as well as technical support and automotive mobility solutions.

3rd place Ag Stone: Making artificial crystals that mimic nature using cheap local metal oxides and glass waste.

On the path of startups

First place Cropsa Smart Platform: Easy for Agricultural Classrooms, which offers a full range of products and services with best offers, flexible payment and secure transportation services.

Second place Recyelizer: A startup specializing in recycling plastic waste into plastic films (i.e. agricultural films) to protect agricultural crops from damage due to changing weather conditions and weeds.

3rd Place Codey: is an educational platform concerned with computer science for children aged 5-16 and more using game strategies, and aims to improve the use of technology for children and pre-university students and teach them the most important field of the twenty-first century: programming, robotics and artificial intelligence And design through an interactive educational platform that ensures the best advanced education strategies such as Steam systems and game stimuli to qualify them for the future and develop themselves to start from now.

The closing ceremony of the competition witnessed lyrical and musical performances by the university choir team led by Maestro Mahmoud Waheed, and the Kayan Center team at the Faculty of Specific Education, which included Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahman and Dr. Marwa Amr Abdel Moneim.

This competition comes within the framework of Ain Shams University's interest in supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship system and supporting student activities, which are in line with the State's Plan for Sustainable Development 2030, which emphasizes the importance of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship and their use to link the educational and research process.

Ain Shams Innovate Competition is held annually with the aim of supporting innovative ideas, startups, ideas and research projects that are based on students, graduates or researchers from Ain Shams University, where the owners of emerging ideas compete to present their business models in terms of importance and leadership and are evaluated by a group of experts in The field of entrepreneurship, which stimulates the university community to develop innovative thinking among them.

It is worth noting that Ain Shams Innovate competition aims to encourage, empower and support innovators and entrepreneurs in the early stages to share and exchange innovative ideas, as well as to form their potential startup companies or small and medium companies while supporting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at the level of Ain Shams University based on principles, values, vision and common goals. While creating a supportive atmosphere for innovative discussions and creating a forum for creative ideas within the Ain Shams University community, while making sure to establish communication channels to bridge the gap between the Ain Shams University community, including students, student activities, initiatives and faculty members.
