Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the College of Girls, the graduation projects of the Anthropology and Folklore Division of the Sociology Department at the College of Girls were discussed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Souad Othman, General Supervisor of the Division, and Prof. Dr. Dina Mofeed, Acting Head of the Department Board.
Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the College, explained that the graduation projects in the Department of Anthropology and Folklore aim to provide the student with the skill to apply what she studied during the four years of study in terms of theories and research methods by applying to topics in the field of anthropology and folklore.
Projects also aim at studying the Egyptian society, revealing all the social and cultural phenomena in it, monitoring the changes that occur to it due to openness to the world, the reflection of all its events on the reality of Egyptian society, and examining all the developments related to the development programs adopted by the Egyptian state in recent years.
It is worth noting that the projects submitted by the students are:
1- Social and cultural changes in the Egyptian countryside as reflected in the customs of marriage, "An anthropological study in the governorates of Giza and Beheira", supervised by Dr. Samah Abdul Ghani with the assistance of Sarah Ismail and Heba Sobhi.
2- Small and medium enterprises in new cities between the stages of construction and the challenges of survival, “An Anthropological Study in El-Obour City”, supervised by Dr. Nadia Abdel Kader with the assistance of Manar Ali and Waad Gamal.
3- Nutritional upbringing of the Egyptian child "An anthropological study in some urban and rural areas", supervised by Prof. Dr. Nagwa Abdel Moneim, Dr. Marwa Fathy, with the assistance of Mai Abdel Fattah, Heba Syed and Nesma El-Kurdy.
4- Food culture among young people between the ideal and the realistic pattern, "An anthropological study in the city of Cairo", supervised by Prof. Dr. Nagwa Abdel Moneim, Dr. Marwa Fathy, with the assistance of Mai Abdel Fattah, Heba Syed and Nesma El-Kurdy.
5- Copper craftsmanship between continuity and extinction, "An anthropological study in Al-Gamaliya neighborhood", supervised by Dr. Anan Muhammad with the assistance of Nehad Muhammad.
6- Herbal folk medicine between the present and the past (an anthropological study), supervised by Dr. Nabila Tajer with the assistance of Sarah Barakat and Doaa Muhammad.
