"Women between Rights and Duties" ... A seminar at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Childhood

The Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood at Ain Shams University organized a symposium entitled "Women between Rights and Duties" under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Howayda El-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty.

The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Abla Al-Alfi, member of the Health Committee of the House of Representatives, advisor to the British Royal College of Pediatrics in the Middle East and South Africa, President of the Egyptian Association of Members of the Royal College of Pediatrics, and Training Officer at the Egyptian Board of the Military Medical Academy, and Prof. Ahmed Al-Kahki, Director of the Center for People with Special Needs, Prof. Maysa Nasr Farid, Professor in the Medical Department, Dr. Reham Sabri in the medical department.

         
   
         

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Howayda Al-Gebali, noting that the International Women's Day should pay tribute to all the support provided by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to women, and His Excellency announced that 2017 is the year of women and their empowerment and increasing their representation in the ministerial formation, as well as the percentage of women in the Senate and the House of Representatives and the first conservative woman She was appointed by His Excellency, and she also received many privileges, including attention to women's health from chronic diseases and tumors, a solidarity and dignity project for the breadwinner and the elderly, and the criminalization of female circumcision with a penalty of up to one year imprisonment and a fine, and the woman obtained unprecedented gains that she did not obtain. before, whether at the level of political, economic or social empowerment.

Her Excellency also presented some of the goals that have already been achieved through the training provided for family counseling and the steps being implemented to achieve comprehensive coverage in cooperation with the relevant ministries and field and electronic campaigns.

   
   

In conclusion, Dr. Abla Al-Alfi said that our journey begins with optimal care for students in schools, then for those wishing to marry, then counseling and educating spouses and those wishing to have children, then training and caring for parents until the end of early childhood.

The seminar was presented by Prof. Mona Lamlum, coordinator of a doctoral researcher in the Department of Psychological Studies for Children at the faculty, talked about what women have achieved and became judges in the State Council.

Love is the key to success in everything. She does not form a family without love and works for the sake of her love for her family and society and the realization of herself. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Howayda Al-Gebali honored Prof. Abla Al-Alfi, presenting the faculty’s shield to its sovereignty, and honoring the Vice Dean and the faculty staff who attended the seminar, Prof. Randa Kamal and Prof. Maysa Nasr and Dr. Reham Sabry, medical department and symposium coordinator Mr. Mona Lamlum, in addition to honoring a large number of faculty staff, the administrative staff, specialists and workers at the faculty and center in appreciation of their prominent role in upgrading the faculty and developing its academic and societal role.

After the activities, Dr. Abla Al-Alfi, a member of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives, the Center for the Care of People with Special Needs, praised her sovereignty for the work and effort made at the center.
