The launch of the volunteer leaders camp in the presence of the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development

The Social Solidarity Unit at Ain Shams University organized a volunteer leaders camp, in the auditorium of Dr. Abdel Ahad Gamal El Din, Faculty of Law, under the auspices of Dr. Neven Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Salah Hashem, Advisor to the Ministry of Solidarity for Social Policies and General Coordinator of Social Solidarity Units in Universities, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the university, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Yassin El-Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in cooperation with a family for Central Egypt, and the Student Union of the Faculty of Law.

         
   
         

100 male and female university students participate in the camp, among the university students who volunteer in the Social Solidarity Unit from the various faculties of the university. The camp aims to promote the culture of volunteering among university youth and introduce it to the meaning of volunteering, its importance and its various fields, to invest the energies of young people and integrate them into social development processes, which contributes to developing a sense of responsibility, loyalty and belonging and instilling awareness and spreading the spirit of participation among young people.

The camp included five themes: the social solidarity program, building the Egyptian person, volunteering and social protection, entrepreneurship as an entry point for development, introduction to first aid, volunteering and the role of the Egyptian Red Crescent in times of crises and disasters.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, confirmed that the university continues its cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity through the university’s Social Solidarity Unit, which provides a range of services to students, whether they are undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to providing them with a set of awareness programs.

He added that a topic related to entrepreneurship was discussed so that graduates would be able to work and innovate in the future, and this is what the state seeks during the current and future stage.

Dr. Hesham Tamraz also welcomed the international students at Ain Shams University and was keen to solve their problems, and confirmed that they have the same rights and duties that their peers obtain from Egyptian students.

Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, welcomed the honorable attendance, and thanked the organizers of the Social Solidarity Unit at Ain Shams University for their effective efforts aimed at serving our students. She also pointed out the importance of the Volunteer Leaders Camp Program today and its role in motivating university youth in community participation in a more effective and positive way.
