The Minister of Education meets the experts of the faculties of education at the Faculty of Education to discuss the framework of the joint cooperation plan

Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with a group of experts from the faculties of education, at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University; within the framework of the partnership between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Faculties of Education, and a plan for future cooperation.

         
   
         

The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Latif, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teacher Affairs, Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, Dr. Nawal Shalaby, Director of the Center for Educational Curricula Development, and Dr. Ramadan Muhammad Ramadan Director of the National Center for Examinations and Educational Evaluation, and the deans of faculties of education are members of the Education Studies Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities.

Dr. Tarek Shawky expressed his happiness for his participation in this meeting with education experts, stressing the importance of activating the partnership between the faculties of education in Egyptian universities and the Ministry of Education, to link between theoretical and practical content, develop the educational process, improve educational practices, build capacities of training units, enhance teachers’ capabilities, and support teaching and learning practices. in colleges of education.

       
   
       

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the journey of developing the Egyptian education system, saying that in 2014 the realization of the vision of the modern state began, an educational revolution was brought about, and the culture of education we inherited decades ago began. It contains book series and defines learning outcomes and gradation in all subjects, and new materials, and this framework has been implemented since 2018 on the new generation of kindergartens, which will graduate in 2030.

The minister pointed out that the ministry now owns assets of 6 years of curricula, which represents a great value that we are proud of, in addition to the various learning resources, which countries and international institutions praise.

       
   
       

Dr. Tarek Shawky explained that we are trying to expedite the construction of curricula. In the past years, the construction of curricula was covered from the first grade of kindergarten to the fourth grade of primary school, and we are now working in parallel in preparing curricula for the fifth primary grade, the first preparatory grade and the first secondary, and in the following year a curriculum is being built The sixth primary, the second preparatory and the second secondary, and then we build the curricula for the third secondary grade, pointing out that this plan, in order to continue, we need to coordinate with the faculties of education, we need teachers for all these stages in addition to training teachers on these curricula, and we also need to prepare teachers With specifications commensurate with the nature of the new curricula, and in light of this, we are thinking of changing the culture of exams, and making question banks for the new curricula in all years to assess the level, and know the strengths and weaknesses of students.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of Ain Shams University, welcomed Dr. Tarek Shawky and the attendees, expressing his thanks and appreciation to all the work team of the Ministry of Education, and praising the road map set by Dr. Tariq Shawky for the development of education and the bold steps in making decisions based on a clear plan, noting that the change It is not easy, but it requires the courage to make a sound decision and everyone's solidarity.

He also thanked Dr. Tariq Shawky for the knowledge bank for the rich materials it has, hoping to benefit more from it from the cadres of the faculties of education and others.

He pointed out that the colleges of education are responsible for graduating the product that the Ministry of Education needs, stressing the importance of joint and fruitful cooperation between the Supreme Council of Universities, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education because each of them complements the other, and we have one national goal to preserve the future of these generations, and we hope In more cooperation and concerted efforts; To achieve a better future for this country.

The meeting discussed the formation of a team from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and professors and experts from faculties of education; To prepare a set of research studies to which the faculties of education contribute to work on changing cultures, reducing resistance to change, preparing teachers, finding appropriate solutions to fill the teachers’ deficit, preparing question banks, in addition to measuring the level of students’ achievement.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold periodic meetings of the committee to discuss the proposed scenarios and work mechanisms during the coming period.
