The first activities of the seminar on ancient Egyptian antiquities began under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Archeology and former Minister of Antiquities, which is organized by the Center for Papyrus Studies and Inscriptions at the Faculty of Archeology, through video conference; In the presence of Prof. Dr.. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, who welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of archeology, and the interest in the next phase of the ancient Egyptian antiquities, especially after the important discoveries in the recent period about the treasures of Egyptian civilization, which prompted the university to adopt the project of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati to open the Faculty of Archeology, praising the distinguished programs that are unparalleled in other faculty of archeology, thus achieving a promising future for them.
In the lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati today under the title "Pages of the Egyptian Civilization”, he affirmed on Egypt's civilization leadership in the world, in all aspects of civilization, as he demonstrated the merit of ancient Egypt over the world in all the war organizations and plans invented by Egyptians thousands of years before other nations.
He also touched on Egypt's merit in medical sciences and how the ancient Egyptian performed complex surgeries such as dental implants, fixing fractures with medical porosity, brain surgeries, eye diseases, etc. sixteen.
A group of public figures, faculty members and archaeologists headed by Prof. Dr. Essam Sharaf, former prime minister, Prof. Sherif Hammad, former Minister of Scientific Research, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, the former Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Mohamed Hamza, the cultural advisor to Egypt in Washington, and Major General Ahmed Abdullah, former governor of the Red Sea, and the writer and historian Prof. Tarik Mansour, former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Maher Issa Professor, Fayoum University attended this lecture.
Prof. Dr. Noha Salem, professor of papyrus science and the Greek language and literature and director of the Center for Papyrus Studies and Inscriptions moderated the seminar. Prof. Mamdouh Al-Damati confirmed at the end of the meeting that the Faculty of Archeology would have a pioneering role in spreading archaeological awareness among students and citizens in general through an ambitious plan that the faculty will implement in the coming period.
