President of Ain Shams University witnessed activities of closing session to visit the team of the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center at the Supreme Council of Universities and the Information Technology Industry Development Authority at the Ministry of Communications
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the activities of the closing session to visit the team of the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center at the Supreme Council of Universities and the Information Technology Industry Development Authority at the Ministry of Communications, as part of their visit to the university, which lasted for three days to support and evaluate the digital transformation process of Egyptian universities and their transformation into smart universities.
During the closing session, the detailed results of the team’s report were presented, which provides a comprehensive and general explanation of its technical and technical review of digital transformation, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Sengab, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Najwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information at the University.
The team reviewed some of the results and reforms that have been made to restore and develop the infrastructure of the university's data center, which will be inaugurated next October, pointing out that it is considered one of the strengths as Ain Shams University has a strong technological infrastructure. The electronic system, which was designed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Najwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers at the University, who is responsible for managing the various sectors of the university, and the team praised the strengths of the university.
The team added that the electronic transformation initiative, which began in September 2019 and continues to date, has contributed to countering the negative effects of the Corona virus, which called for the creation of smart electronic infrastructure for universities to confront the epidemic and its impact on the educational process.
The team explained that all these factors had a great impact in making Ain Shams University take the lead in stopping the negative effects of the global epidemic with the help of its strong databases.
The team was also given some guiding points that the university can use to manage the campus electronically, in addition to some advice that could represent different points between it and any other Egyptian university.
