The closing ceremony of the "Not Normal" initiative launched by the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit, coinciding with the international period (sixteen days) to combat violence against women, hosted by the Faculty of Girls

Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, witnessed ceremonial activities at the conclusion of the "Not Normal" initiative, which is launched by the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and the Education and Student Affairs Sector on Saturday 10/12/2022 at the Faculty Theater.

This comes within the framework of the Faculty of Girls’ keenness on awareness programs in the field of supporting women and combating violence.

This is under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, Prof. Dr. Mai Helmy, and Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, supervising and coordinating Prof. Dr. Hind Al-Hilali, Head of the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the University, and Prof. Dr. Fayrouz Hassan, coordinator of the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit in the Faculty, in cooperation with the Knights of Hadidi Foundation.

         
   
         

The celebration began with a discussion of some issues from specialists in this field, including Mrs. Maysa Atwa, a member of the House of Representatives, deputy of the Solidarity Committee in the House of Representatives, and head of the Women and Youth Caucus, who discusses the legislative role of the House of Representatives in supporting women's issues, Prof. Dr. Rania Yahya, a member of the National Council for Women and Rapporteur of the Literature and Arts Committee of the National Council for Women. Her Excellency discussed the role of the National Council in supporting all aspects of women at the level of the Arab Republic of Egypt Prof. Dr. Hind Al-Hilali, Head of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the university, explained the role of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit towards all types of women within the university campus through the mechanisms and strategies that the unit pursues in deterring all forms of violence and bullying on campus, as well as forms of support and capacity development for female students and women of all religions on campus, in line with the national strategy for the empowerment of women and the political leadership supporting women.

Dr. Nidaa Al-Hadidi, Chairman of the Trustees of the Knights of Al-Hadidi Foundation, discussed the role of civil society in supporting Egyptian women, spreading awareness of women’s issues, spreading awareness of Egyptian women on how to confront violence in all its forms, and what are the mechanisms that the state grants to women in all fields in terms of deterring all forms of violence, as well as the role, played by civil society organizations In supporting and developing the capabilities of Egyptian women, achieving strategies for empowerment and leadership within Egyptian society.

Brigadier General Hatem Abdel Fattah Saber, the security advisor to His Excellency the President of the University, highlighted the role of social networking sites in falsifying the awareness of Egyptian youth and clarified some trends that young men and women broadcast on social networking sites that carry destructive messages that fragment the Egyptian society and the Egyptian family.

Dr. Siham Jibril, a member of the National Council for Women, a former member of the senators, and rapporteur of the provincial committee sent several letters to all female students from the different provinces, explaining the role of the National Council for Women and all its branches in the provinces in defending girls and women against any violence practiced against them.

         
   
         

Dr. Fayrouz Mahmoud, the coordinator of the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit in the college, told the students the best ways to achieve their dreams and be inspired.

The symposium was attended by a large number of members of the Forsan Al-Hadidi Foundation, members of the Women’s Cluster, Ad-Tahadi youth, faculty members, and a large audience of female students. Everyone expressed their happiness with this symposium and its cultural and educational importance, and they expressed their desire to repeat such purposeful cultural symposiums, as he emphasized. Students on the extent of benefiting from the topic of the seminar and its importance in dealing with their daily problems.

The faculty staff and students participated in many interventions and questions that were answered.

On the sidelines of the celebration, a charity clothing exhibition was presented by the Knights of Hadidi Foundation.

At the end of the meeting, all students and faculty staff thanked the efforts made by the faculty to support all activities aimed at supporting women and combating violence. Many memorial photos were taken with the lecturers, and the lecturers were honored.

It is worth noting that a concert was held by the faculty choir, coordinated by the Faculty's Youth Welfare Department, to celebrate the conclusion of the "Not Normal" initiative.
