Ain Shams University students visit the site of the Tree Hill and the Tahya Masr tunnels

Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the leadership of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, organized a visit for university students to the military shrine of Tree Hill and the Tahya Misr tunnels, east of Ismailia, on the land of Turquoise Sinai, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of Colonel Ahmed Negm, Director of the Military Education Department at Ain Shams University, and Lieutenant Colonel Tariq El-Shimi, Deputy Director of the Military Education Department at the university.

The visit comes from the vision of the education sector and students headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud in implementing the state’s strategy to see our new national projects that are taking place in a strategic area and a spot dear to the heart of every Egyptian, which is the Canal region and Sinai, which was carried out with a very distinguished thought and vision.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud explained that this visit also came with the aim of introducing students and informing them of the places that witnessed battles that shaped Egypt's future and independence, in addition to educating them about the state's efforts in development, and involving them in the state's national plan for development and strengthening their confidence and belonging to their country.

"Saoud" pointed out that these places are one of the most important historical shrines that list many of the Egyptian army's heroics and sacrifices, and one of the most famous archaeological sites testifying to Israel's subjugation in the Sinai, to liberate the fortified Tree Hill and it is one of the castles of the impenetrable Bar Lev Line, and one of the most important historical shrines that lists military tournaments on the land of Ismailia Governorate.

During the visit, the university students got acquainted with one of the fortified points along the Suez Canal line," Tree Hill ", which is located east of the Suez Canal on a high hill that reveals the entire city of Ismailia, which Israel used as a strategic command center and called it "the head of the destructive snake" as the strongest Israeli fortifications at the time. On top of the hill, Israel placed artillery to fire ammunition on the city of Ismailia. In the middle of the site is a monument that includes a plaque with the names of the martyrs and heroes of the Battle of the Tree Hill. It was called this name because it looks like tree trunks when photographed by flying from above, which the Egyptian army stormed in order to recover the land and liberate the homeland.

During the visit, the delegation of Ain Shams University students passed through the " Tahya Masr " tunnels, which were inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to link the Delta with the land of turquoise "Sinai" at a cost of 11.5 billion pounds. It includes two tunnels for cars that pass under the old and new Suez Canals, within the framework of achieving sustainable development and easing the burden on citizens in moving to and from Sinai, in addition to linking Sinai with the valley, all in order to complete the new transit epic to achieve sustainable development for our beloved Egypt.

At the end of the visit, the university students expressed their great happiness and pride in our valiant Egyptian armed forces throughout the ages, as they took memorial photos from the " Tree Hill " site.
