The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University organized a scientific symposium entitled "Towards a Green Climate" for the second time in a row this year, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, attended by Prof. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Dalia Hussein, Professor and Head of the Department of Music Education, Prof. Dr. Safaa Sayed, Professor and Head of the Department of Educational Technology, in the presence of all faculty members, students, and administrators.
Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed said that the symposium came as part of the university’s efforts to actively participate in the national initiative for smart green projects within the framework of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, and in conjunction with Egypt’s preparation to host the Global Summit on Climate Change “COP 27”, which is scheduled to be held from 6 to 18 November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Prof. Dr. Osama pointed out the extent to which climate changes affect food, how they can affect human and animal health, and the reasons for the emergence of carbon emissions and greenhouse gases, which led to the formation of a layer of gases outside the atmosphere, which resulted in high temperatures on the surface of the earth, and the death of Aquatic life and ocean level rise.
Prof. Dr. Dalia Hussein Rais talked about the impact of climate change on the human response to listening to music, as she explained that "music is a moral law that gives the soul to the universe and gives wings to the mind, helps escape to the imagination, and gives magic and joy to life."
She reviewed the history of music, which dates back to prehistoric times, where primitive musical instruments were made of wood or animal bones without humans having scientific knowledge of the importance of music, but it remains a factor in influencing the mood of humans, and we can choose music ourselves, as we do Play motivational music while exercising, relaxing music before bed, or any music while working.
While Prof. Dr. Safaa Sayed reviewed the impact of technology on these climate changes, explaining that digital technology constitutes a small part of emissions compared to what aviation causes, even once a year, for example, while any amount of carbon dioxide emissions we save is important.
Her Excellency added that we are trying to encourage people to take advantage of the digital power to help combat climate change, as the way to heat our homes, for example, is not understood, as people heat the entire house to use part of it, but we can solve this problem using digital technology, so we have to make sure that the digital revolution Support the climate revolution.
