A workshop entitled Body measurements at the Faculty of Girls

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Department of Biochemistry and Nutrition, organized a workshop entitled " Body Measurements ", under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The workshop was co-organised by Dr. Alia Salah Gabal, Dr. Hoda Ismail Megahid, and Dr. Suha Shibl Nassar.

The workshop provided the students with measuring weight and height and calculating the body mass index, as it was found that the majority of the participating students have an ideal weight, some suffer from overweight and a small percentage suffer from being thin.

During the workshop, some nutritional advice was provided to the students to obtain an ideal weight, and some examples of healthy meals that the students can bring during the school day to maintain weight, activity and health in general. The organizing members answered the students’ inquiries, and the number of beneficiaries from the workshop reached 65 students.
