Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, gives a speech at the Global Women's Breakfast

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, participated in the International Women’s Breakfast, in which the university participates in cooperation with the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry IUPAC, the Institute of Chemistry and Technology, Mumbai, India and the Society for Pharmaceutical Dissolution Science. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, in his speech, discussed the role of Ain Shams University, pointing to the university's keenness on the presence of the female component among the faculty members in the various faculties.

He added that Ain Shams University is unique in having a private college for girls within the university's faculties, to support girls who want to learn science, literature and the arts. He also talked about the presence of foreign students at the university, which confirms the university's support for diversity.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini emphasized that the university's vision is in line with the vision of the Egyptian state that supports women and the goals of sustainable development.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Nadia Zakhari, the former Minister of Scientific Research, spoke about the role of women in Egyptian history throughout the ages, stressing that there are distinguished Egyptian women in science.

Prof. Dr. Amr Shaata, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs at Ain Shams University. In numbers, women have obtained various positions at the Faculty of Engineering, leading to the position of dean of the faculty, in addition to receiving many awards from inside and outside the university.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Nadia Kandil, a professor at the Faculty of Girls at Ain Shams University, about the excellence of the Faculty of Girls and the support it provides for female students and the distinguished programs it offers, praising the Egyptian state's support for women at all levels.

Prof. Dr. Ghada Bassiouni, Professor of Chemistry at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and the coordinator of the International Women’s Breakfast, showed a video of the students of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, in which they expressed their aspirations. Posts from Germany, Australia, Britain, the United States and Malaysia.

The discussions revolved around three themes, the first of which was the difficulties women face in the field of science, the second theme focused on the extent to which women benefited from joining this field, and the third theme focused on the hopes and aspirations of women in the field of science.

The discussion symposium came out with several recommendations, the most important of which is the need to encourage women by allocating prizes for scientific excellence in the field of science, and allocating prizes to the mother who can obtain a master's or doctorate while raising her children.

The discussions also recommended increasing the participation of women in conferences and others to obtain more moral support through increasing communication channels, with the need to identify the problems facing women in the field of science, to provide solutions that help them overcome the obstacles they face.

It is worth noting that the events were opened with a speech from IUPAC, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, during which all participants were welcomed at the opening and in the discussions that followed the opening.
