Honoring Major General Staff of War Naji Shahoud in the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abd El-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, honored Major General Staff of War Naji Shahoud, the Counselor at Nasser Military Academy, by gifting him the Faculty shield as a culmination of his efforts to raise national awareness among Faculty students through a lecture he gave entitled: “October War and Fourth Generation Wars,” which was organized by the Department of Oriental Languages ​​headed by Prof. Dr. Rania Fawzy and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Saeed Jamal Al-Din, full-time professor in the department, Dr. Saeed Al-Sabbagh, Assistant Professor in the department and supervisor of cultural activities, and a group of faculty members and students.

Prof. Dr. Rania Muhammad Fawzy, welcomed Major General Staff of War Naji Shahoud, by presenting an overview of his military history, which began in 1967, when he fought the war with the rank of captain in the Egyptian Armed Forces, and finished his service as Assistant Director of Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance. He held this position for 13 years and continues to give In the service of the homeland as a counselor at the Nasser Military Academy.

Fawzi expressed her happiness for His Excellency to accept the department’s invitation to review the situations of the glorious October War on the forty-eighth anniversary of the Glorious October Victory, and to talk about the fourth generation wars, which a lot of talk about, especially in light of the fierce war that Egypt has been exposed to since the June 30, 2013 Revolution, a war that It is characterized by decentralization and the use of all forms of modern technology and psychological warfare.

Dr. Saeed Al-Sabbagh said that the memory of the sixth of October is inspiring to us and to the generations of Egypt throughout history. It is the one who taught us that this authentic people set an example for us in lining up behind their leadership, believing in them and confident in them, at a time when their foreheads were bleeding, and taught us that this people sons are all soldiers and all their soldiers are for the sacrifice of the homeland

Al-Sabbagh stressed that the spirit of victory is what prompted all the masses of the people to support their armed forces wholeheartedly in all their battles through the ages, and which we see evidence in every major project that presents an inspiring model for patriotism and development. The aim of the lecture is to develop national values among the sons of the homeland for the sake of the glory of this country and to adhere to our national values so that Egypt with its sons remains a force that no adventurer can overcome, not be overcome by a gambler, and not deceived by a conspirator.

In his speech, Major General Staff Naji Shahoud, former Director of Military Intelligence, one of the heroes of the October War, and advisor at Nasser Military Academy, said that there are wars currently called fourth-generation wars that are more dangerous than armed wars, because they play with the minds of young people through modern media and social media, which has become an intruder who puts poison in honey, targeting the minds of young people. Therefore, all community institutions are responsible for educating these young people and adjusting their behavior in proportion to the desired right behavior by applying firmness and strictness in implementing laws.

He also reviewed the features of the valor of the Egyptian soldier during the October War, and pointed out that the October War generation experienced the most difficult period in the history of Egypt from 1967 to 1973 until the War of Glory and Dignity came, and the Egyptians won the October War to give the world a lesson in sacrifices.
