UNESCO Office Organized Honoring Ceremony for Ain Shams University via Internet

UNESCO Cairo Office organized a special ceremony today, 6th November 2021 from 10:00 am. to 13:00 pm. Cairo time , to honor Ain Shams University which gained the 2021 UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy.

This will be followed by a discussion panel that includes experts in adult education and literacy. Discussion will be about the subject of International Literacy Day 2021 – Literacy for people-centered recovery: narrowing the digital gap. 
UNESCO has launched Confucius Prize for Literacy in 2005 with the support of People's Republic of China government. The Prizes grants special interest to functional literacy, and to benefit from the technological environments to support adults in rural areas and young people who are not enrolled in schools.
