The first introductory meeting for students of the Faculty of Archeology

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, confirmed that the Faculty of Archeology, in which the new academic year will start studying, is unique by all standards, as it includes a number of distinguished programs. This came during the activities of the induction day of the Faculty of Archeology, which was held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty, and the former Minister of Antiquities, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, supervisor of the Museums and Dust Sites Management Program and former Minister of Antiquities, Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and a number of new students.

Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud explained that Ain Shams University is a serious university and is not difficult, expressing his happiness in this capacity because it indicates that the university's students are among the elite of serious students who seek them in the labor market.

He pointed out that Ain Shams University's distinction comes from the keenness to provide a unique and distinguished educational service, stressing that Ain Shams University has international recognition for the quality of the educational process.

         
   
         

His Excellency added that Ain Shams University enjoys a global reputation that distinguishes it from its peers, explaining that Ain Shams University is among the top 1000 universities in 4 global rankings, namely QS, Times Higher Education, Shanghai, US News out of 35,000 universities, where the university entered in 2013 in The QS International Organization’s evaluation of the stars for universities and facultys, and the university submitted all the necessary files, and the committee responsible for the classification visited and monitored the university on an ongoing basis in terms of quality of education, social responsibility, university facilities, in addition to measurements of satisfaction from faculty members, after which the university was evaluated with a number of stars For three years, the university got 3 stars in 2016 and then in 2018 4 stars out of 5 stars.

His Excellency also alluded to the classification of measuring the value of the graduate in the labor market, which depends on employers in its evaluation, which announced a few days ago that Ain Shams University is only at the level of Egyptian public universities among 500 universities worldwide, noting that the Faculty of Archeology includes figures of as much as A great deal of scientific, cultural and administrative excellence, in addition to the excellence of the programs available in the faculties of archeology in Egypt.

He added that the new headquarters of the faculty will be in the new university branch in front of the entrance to the new administrative capital within two years.

He also called on the students to participate in the various different student activities that characterize the university, pointing out that the university's students won 24 prizes in the creativity competition in its last edition, in which they excelled at the level of amateurs and specialists.

In the conclusion of his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Fattah Saoud, directed the new students, to take the vaccination provided by the university, as well as the necessity of absorbing any information and always asking about its details until they reach the complete information.

   
   
   

Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology and former Minister of Antiquities, indicated that the faculty includes the Department of Ancient Egyptian Archeology, Department of Islamic Archeology, Department of Roman and Greek Archeology, and the two programs for managing museums and archaeological sites, and archaeology and excavations, explaining that these two programs are unparalleled in any Faculty of Archeology, pointing out that The extent to which the labor market is in great need of these specializations that are unique to the college, as His Excellency explained that the bifurcation will be from the second year, provided that the maximum number of students for each department is 50 students only.

Regarding the formation of the Faculty Board, His Excellency explained that the Board of the Faculty of Archeology includes 3 former Ministers of Antiquities: Prof. Dr. Zahi Hawass, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damaty, and Engineer Ghada Labib, Deputy Minister of Communications for Institutional Development Affairs, to serve the student of the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, the supervisor of the Museums and Archaeological Sites Management Program and the former Minister of Antiquities, explained that the vision of the program is the need for large museums to have a good and conscious management at the local, regional and global levels, based on a scientific method that contains all the scientific outputs that the graduate needs, explaining that the study of museum management It has creativity and the latest international systems, especially since there are a number of museums not only in Egypt but also in the Arab region and the Middle East.
