Ain Shams University ranks first in index Nature international rankings

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, announced that the university scored a new achievement in the field of international classification, where the university ranked first among Egyptian universities in (Index Nature) for the period from August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019, according to the official website of the classification.

This classification is based on the scientific research indicators of the university and its classification and indexing on behalf of researchers and the research body belonging to it by a group of researchers in several fields to examine the scientific production of each institution impartially.

The Rector expressed his happiness with the successes of the International Classification Bureau and his efforts in cooperation with the various sectors of the University in order to raise the global assessment.

In this context, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and General Supervisor of the International Classification of the University explained that this classification is based on four criteria (number of research articles, the relative contribution of each researcher in a particular article, cooperation in the production of research or article, number of researchers involved).

Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud pointed out that this classification shows a great excellence for the scientific research system at the university, confirming Egypt's second place in this classification also at the African level.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Sengab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, said that the results of this classification came to announce the results of what the sector of postgraduate studies and research in the field of scientific research and international publishing, where the sector is keen to organize training courses on a regular basis in cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank to introduce faculty members and their assistants on how to publish their scientific production internationally and introduce them to the most prominent international journals in various scientific fields.

In this context, the sector has established an international publishing office followed by sub-liaison units in all faculties and institutes of the university to facilitate communication with the main committee of international publishing.

Dr. Ahmed El-Banna, Director of the International Classification Office, stated that the International Classification Office at SCOPUS and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank to correct and unify the name of Ain Shams University in the world famous databases and international publishing sites, which contributed to the increase in the number of scientific research published internationally and attributed to Ain Shams University.
