Selection of Ain Shams University as a member of the African-Chinese Studies Union

Prof. Dr. Hussein Essa, Chairman of the Committee of Planning and Budget in the House of Representatives and former President of Ain Shams University, received the University's membership in the African-Chinese Studies Union on behalf of Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Ezzat, during the first session of the Conference on China-Africa Cooperation, represented by the Center for African Studies in China.

Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel-Sayed, Director of the Office of International Relations at the University, announced that the selection was signed by Ain Shams University for the membership of the Union, which includes 33 African countries, to be Ain Shams University representative of the Egyptian and Arab universities, based on the support and recommendations of the Chinese presidency.

She stressed that this membership is an extension and consolidation of the Egyptian-Chinese relations of historical cooperation, especially after the participation of President Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. As well as the keenness of the People's Republic of China to expand the base of joint cooperation and build a course to develop future relations with African countries within the framework of coordination between the Road Initiative, the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the 2063 African Union Agenda and the African Development Strategies.

She pointed out that Ain Shams University is a founding member of the Federation, pointing out that this cooperation opens the possibility of joint research between China and Africa on the Silk Road in various economic, logistic, medical, engineering, academic, research and other fields.

The Chinese government recommended the establishment of a center for African-Chinese studies in Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, with Ain Shams University as the headquarters of the Center in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
