Ain Shams University receives a delegation from the Dar al-Salam Islamic Institute in Indonesia to discuss joint cooperation

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, received a delegation from the Dar al-Salam Islamic Institute, West Java, in the Republic of Indonesia, headed by Prof. Fadel Yani Ain Shams, Director of the Institute, and from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Cairo, Dr. Bambang Suryadi, Educational and Cultural Advisor to the Embassy, and Dr. Rahmat Aming Lasim, media advisor.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Muhammad Al-Shafi’i, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Samar Rajab, Director of the Special Needs Support Unit at the Faculty of Education.

         
   
         

During the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk welcomed the Indonesian delegation, noting the depth of relations between the two countries and the historical ties that have linked them over the years, and the two countries also share many common cultural, commercial, and economic fields.

Her Excellency welcomed cooperation with the Indonesian side at the academic level, the exchange of students and professors, and the increase in the number of Indonesian students studying at Ain Shams University, noting that cooperation with Eastern countries is among the interests of the Egyptian state.

She added that the file of international students receives great attention from the university administration, which is keen to provide them with the best services, and is keen on their participation in student activities, in addition to providing modern education and distinctive programs to provide them with science and culture, as they are true ambassadors of the university in their country.

         
   
         

She also talked about the services provided by the “Study in Egypt” platform, which was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to assist and provide services to international students, in the implementation of the state’s directives to improve the international student system and to make Egypt the largest distinguished educational center in the Middle East in fulfillment of Egypt’s 2030 strategy.

Prof. Ghada Farouk also shed light on the various faculties of Ain Shams University and the centers of excellence that the university includes.

For his part, the Director of the Dar Al Salam Institute reviewed the number of students at the institute and the various specializations it includes, pointing out that the Dar Al Salam Institute includes at the university level the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Sharia, Law, Fundamentals of Religion, Economics and Islamic Transactions. The Institute is also interested in developing research in the agricultural field within the framework of community service. He is also interested in development and women's empowerment.

The members of the delegation stressed their happiness to be present at Ain Shams University because of its long history and advanced rank in international classifications, stressing their keenness to cooperate with Ain Shams University, which has a distinguished international academic reputation.

After the meeting, the Indonesian delegation made an inspection tour of the Faculty of Arts, accompanied by Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty.
