On Sunday, October 8, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, received Dr. Eileen Garcia Vice President of Ocean College of America, Dr. Maysa Abu Youssef, Assistant Vice President for International Affairs at Larson University and Dean of Educational Outreach at Ocean College of America.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Mamdouh Abdel Alim, former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Ahmed Al-Sabbagh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Noha Yahya Zakaria, Coordinator of the partnership program between the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University, Kean University, and Ocean College of America.
The visit comes to follow up on the partnership program between Ain Shams University, represented by the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University, Ocean College, and Kean University of the Americas (Ain Shams - Ocean - Kean Program) with a credit hour system for those holding an Egyptian high school diploma and its equivalent, and to develop new plans that contribute to increasing student demand on this special program, which allows those enrolled to obtain three certificates (Ain Shams - Keen - Ocean), which was approved to be established at the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University in September 2016.
Possible cooperation programs with Ain Shams Private University, which is being established, were also discussed.
During the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk confirmed that Ain Shams University is keen on diversity in its study programs in cooperation with international universities, stressing that Ain Shams University is taking all means to make the partnership between Ain Shams University and the American side successful and in the interest of the Egyptian student.
It also sheds light on Ain Shams National University, which will be built on the latest systems to be a model of a modern public university that competes with the largest international universities and includes distinguished programs that were chosen after conducting a study of the needs and requirements of the labor market, and in keeping with the Egyptian state’s plan.
For her part, Dr. Elaine Garcia confirmed her keenness to continue cooperation with Ain Shams University as an international academic partner with a distinguished international reputation.
