Ain Shams University celebrates the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth with a symposium on “The Prophet of Mercy”

Ain Shams University celebrated the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth by holding a symposium entitled “The Prophet of Mercy” within the framework of the university’s cultural and artistic season, which is organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector. The Education and Student Affairs Sector and the Faculty of Al-Alsun participate in organizing the symposium, under the auspices of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University and Vice President of the University for Community and Environmental Affairs, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs.

The symposium was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Coordinator of the Symposium, Mrs. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the administrative supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, with the participation of students from the University’s Department of Military Education and the presence of a group of members of the National Council for Women, Cairo branch, and professors from various university Faculties.

Prof. Ghada Farouk’s opened the activities which included inspecting an exhibition of paintings created by students of the Faculty of Specific Education entitled “Images of Islamic Aesthetics,” held under the supervision of Prof. Noha Mustafa Abdel Aziz, Professor and Head of the Art Education Department at the Faculty of Specific Education.

Prof. Ghada Farouk delivered her speech, emphasizing that the most important thing to commemorate the Prophet’s birthday is to emulate and emulate the morals and behaviors of the Noble Prophet in all aspects of life, especially in family and societal transactions.

She advises her students on the necessity of imitating our Master, the Messenger of God, in perseverance and determination in work and performing the mission that God has bestowed upon His Noble Messenger and performing it in the best way. Therefore, it was necessary for each of us to perform his mission and role that God wanted from him, each in his field.

The distinguished journalist Alaa Bassiouni, Vice President of Egyptian Television and former head of the Egyptian Satellite Channel, spoke about some of the features and characteristics of the great personality of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, in social and family relations, in treaties with enemies, and the sincerity and trustworthiness that the enemies knew about him, to which they bore witness to him. So we must imitate the Messenger of God. In word and deed.

Then, the venerable Sheikh Fakhrur, Head of the Sharia Sector at the Egyptian Fatwa House and Director of the Oral Fatwa Department, reviewed positions from the life of the Noble Messenger that confirm that he is a Prophet of Mercy to the worlds. He was merciful to his enemies on the day of Taif, when our master was beaten by the people of Taif, but he refused to order the King of the Mountains to attack the people of Taif and said, may God bless him and grant him peace, that perhaps God would bring forth from their loins someone who faith in God, and here the mercy of his heart is evident despite his weakness, pain, and anger.

The second situation was the day when the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, entered Mecca as a victor and conqueror - and he was the one who left it as an immigrant by his religion, abandoning his money and his home - he had mercy on the infidels of Quraysh and the people of Mecca with his famous saying, “Go, for you are free.”

Then His Eminence answered the questions of a number of students and gentlemen in attendance, and Prof. Ghada Farouk presented the guests of the symposium with commemorative shields, expressing her appreciation for their generous attendance, praising the organization of the event and the efforts of those in charge of it.

The audience enjoyed segments of religious chanting under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Salem, Professor of Violin, Department of Music Education, Faculty of Specific Education.
