Ain Shams University receives a delegation from University of Zawia in Libya to enhance communication and joint cooperation

On Monday morning, September 18, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, received a high-level delegation from Zawia University in Libya, within the framework of enhancing communication and joint cooperation between the two universities.

The delegation included Mr. Ismail Al-Hadi Ahmadah, the cultural and academic attaché at the Libyan Embassy in Cairo, Prof. Mahmoud Salem Jadore, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Vice President of Zawia University in Libya, Professor Dr. Ismail Al-Akash, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Sami Essa, representative of the International Cooperation Office at Zawia University.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector from Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Nasser Singab, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and former Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International students and Mobility Office at the University.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, offered her sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the brothers in Libya for the victims of the hurricane that struck various regions in the east of the sisterly state of Libya, and her best wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, stressing the depth of the strong ties and relations between Egypt and the sister country of Libya.

For their part, the members of the delegation praised the great support provided by the Egyptian state during the crisis, stressing the specialness of the relationship between Egypt and Libya, which share common historical ties.

During the meeting, the exchange of experiences and knowledge in various fields of education and scientific research was discussed, and benefiting from faculty members at Ain Shams University to teach at the university there, especially in the faculties of the medical sector, engineering, and computers.

For her part, Prof. Ghada Farouk welcomed the joint cooperation with Zawia University, and providing all aspects of support to the university there, noting that there are large numbers of Libyan foreign students studying in the various colleges of the university. The university is keen to take care of them and provide the best modern education and distinctive programs to provide them with science and culture, as they are true ambassadors of the university in their countries.

The delegation expressed its pride in the high educational and academic level and the prestigious reputation enjoyed by Ain Shams University and the tangible progress it has achieved in the education sector. They also expressed their sincere appreciation to the university administration for its support for Libyan students studying there and providing them with all aspects of care and various services during their studies. In various colleges of the university, whether at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels.

During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was given about the University of Zawia, which is one of the government universities in Libya, located west of the capital, Tripoli, and includes 23 colleges, 25,742 students at the undergraduate level, and 2,699 students at the graduate level.
