For the fifteenth year in a row, the “Bedaya Medical Convoy” of the Fekra Family, at Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, set off on a journey of goodness and giving that lasted for six days throughout the village of Abu Dihoum, Atsa Center, Fayoum Governorate, under the auspices of Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Hebat Allah Saeed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hala Suwaid, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Ashraf Kortam, the pioneer of the family and the general supervisor of the Bedaya Convoy.
The Bedaya convoy began on Monday, August 21, 2023, and continued until Sunday, August 27, 2023. Those days included the presence of 10 clinics of various specialties (check-up - internal medicine - surgery - Dental - cardio - ortho - gynecology - pediatrics - radiology - ENT) in addition to laboratories, pharmacy and health awareness team, which resulted in the provision of free medical service and examination of 1,396 adults and 1,388 children.
Speaking of the medical service provided by the convoy, it is a major basic service. But it is not the only service provided to the people of the village, and here we mention the community development team, which was recently added this year with the aim of extending the impact and not limiting it to just the week of the caravan, but rather it is an impact that can be benefited from every day and for as long as God wills. With it, establishing one roof for a needy villager was achieved in addition to supporting another with a livestock project, providing a village bride with home essentials, and holding literacy lessons over a period of ten days.
