Students of the Faculty of Al-Alsun visit the Zaffran Palace Museum

The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University organized a visit to the Zaffran Palace Museum, under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The faculty delegation included a number of faculty staff, teaching assistants, and faculty students, and was received by Dr. Walaa El-Din Badawi, Director of the Museum, who accompanied the delegation on a tour to introduce the museum’s philosophy and its most important collections.

This visit came within the sector's strategic goals to connect students with the university's history within the framework of the "Know Your University" initiative.

The museum includes a distinguished collection of exhibits, including the façade of the gate to the shrine of Prince Nebmaat-Re, son of King Ramesses IX (1125-1107 BC), who held the position of high priest of the sun (War-Mao) in the Temple of Ra in Iono.

The statue of Imhotep is made of bronze, and the base is made of alabaster. It dates back to the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty - the Sawi age.

A wooden human coffin bearing religious scenes to protect the deceased, dating back to the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty - the Sawi age.

A collection of ceramics, made by Ghaibi al-Tawrizi, the pioneer of potters during the Mamluk age, 8th century AH/14th century AD.

A collection of medals, decorations, and commemorative medals of the Kingdom of Egypt, during the era of the Muhammad Ali family, 1314 AH/1920 AD, in addition to a collection of university collectibles.
