The Acting President of the University signs a joint cooperation agreement with the Chinese Nanjing University of Arts at the conclusion of its participation in the China-Arab Animation Industry Forum.

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, and Professor Li Xiang Min, President of the Nanjing Academy of Arts, signed an agreement for joint research and academic cooperation between Ain Shams University and Nanjing Chinese University of Arts, at the conclusion of their participation in the work of the Chinese-Arab Forum for the Animation Industry, whose activities were held in the People’s Republic of China over the course of 4 consecutive days.

The cooperation between the two sides comes in specializations and programs related to the animation industry in television, cinema, and games, in addition to the exchange of professors and students and the implementation of joint projects between specialists from both sides.

After signing the protocol, Prof. Ghada Farouk presented the Ain Shams University shield to Professor Li Xiangmin and Mr. Qian Feng, Chairman of Ou Rui Culture Industry Group.

In her speech at the Chinese and Arab Universities Forum on behalf of Arab universities, Prof. Ghada Farouk stressed Ain Shams University’s keenness to communicate and cooperate with Chinese universities in various scientific specializations and reviewed the faculties and programs included in the university, thanking the organizing committee of the forum, Nanjing University of the Arts, and the Ou Rui Group for the Cultural Industry for organizing the forum, which contributes to cooperate between academics and institutions concerned with marketing Animation products in China and the Arab world.

It is noteworthy that Ain Shams University’s participation in the activities of the China-Arab Animation Industry Forum came at the invitation of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Nanjing University of Arts, and a delegation from Ain Shams University headed by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University, Prof. Nasser Abdel-Al, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun for Education and Student Affairs and Director of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University, and Prof. Mohamed Ramadan, assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, representing the youth of Ain Shams University.

The forum was held with the aim of supporting cooperation between China and Arab countries in the field of the animation industry and deepening acquaintance between Chinese and Arab youth in order to further innovate in the animation industry, open horizons for the production of television and cinema works, and games, and advance modern technology in this vital field.

Over the course of the forum, Prof. Ghada Farouk met with Mr. Lu Yangquan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Ms. Su Ying, Vice President of Jiangsu Province, Professor Li Xiangmin, President of the Nanjing Academy of Arts, and Professor Xia Si, Dean of the Faculty of International Education at Nanjing University of the Arts.

Also, Prof. Ghada Farouk met Mr. Zha Yingdong, Mayor of Suzhou City, Mr. Sheng Beh, Secretary-General of the Party in Suzhou City, Ms. Qi Hui Zhao, Director-General of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Beijing, and Mr. Wang Min, Director-General of the Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism in Chengdu City.

Her Excellency also met with Ms. Zhong Dandan, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, and Professor Duan Wankai, China Information University.

Prof. Ghada Farouk participated in the Forum of Institutions Concerned with the Manufacturing, Marketing, and Distribution of Animated Films to learn about future prospects for cooperation between Ain Shams University and commercial institutions specialized in this industry, which has become an important tributary that contributes greatly to the national economy.

Also, Prof. Ghada Farouk participated in the promotional meeting for the urban digital culture industry, which dealt with digital cities, digital modernization, digital culture, and the digital economy.

Prof. Ghada Farouk visited Nanjing University of Arts in Nanjing and met with Ms. Zhang Jia, Vice President of the University, the meeting dealt with introducing faculties, programs, and scientific specializations and reviewing aspects of cooperation in the fields of student exchange, professors, and joint research, in the presence of the deans of the faculties of industrial design, fine arts, international studies, and animation, and the Director of the University’s International Relations Department.

Her Excellency also visited the Faculty of Industrial Design and listened to an explanation from the Dean of the Faculty about the latest technologies and laboratories in the Faculty. Professor. The President of Nanjing University expressed the university’s welcome to students from Ain Shams University at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.

The Vice President of Nanjing University indicated that she will visit Ain Shams University as part of the activities of the Chinese university delegation’s visit to Ain Shams University next month.
