Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research within the efforts and vision of Ain Shams University towards green transformation, and under the auspices of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting as President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, a 3-day training course entitled "Mitigating the Negative Effects of Climate Change Using Rationalization in Water, Energy and Food Consumption ... Towards a Sustainable Lifestyle in Modern Cities"
This is within the framework of a research project entitled "Net Zero Carbon Campus NZCC" in cooperation with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University ASU-iHub and the " Net Zero Carbon Campus" project is a research project in partnership between Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt and Kingston University in the Kingdom Funded by the British Council.
This research project is managed on the Egyptian side by Prof. Mostafa Refaat Ismail, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, principal investigator and leader of the research team. The project focuses on reducing the carbon footprint and transforming the university campus towards zero carbon emissions.
This training was held in the iHub building at Ain Shams University and was prepared and presented by Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, lecturer of environmental engineering sciences, and director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability at Ain Shams University. The training course also witnessed a series of lectures, including a lecture on entrepreneurship in green and sustainable magazines, delivered by Prof. Samah Al-Khatib, Professor of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and a lecture on sustainable design strategies for educational buildings, delivered by Dr. Menna Allah Tariq, Lecturer of Architecture and Heritage at the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University.
