The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) announced the launch of the first edition of its award for converting bio-waste into food bars. The award aims to support entrepreneurs and startups in developing innovative technologies to extract protein, fats, and carbohydrates from wasted food. Three awards will be awarded to the best Three projects in ISESCO member states, selected by a jury composed of international experts.
The award seeks to enhance the interest of youth and women in the countries of the Islamic world in developing innovative solutions to make the most of wasted food, by developing innovative solutions, to contribute to achieving food security, and aims to support specialists in developing innovative technologies in the field of food security, and entrepreneurs in the green economy,
The first-place winner will receive (30 thousand US dollars).
The second-place winner will receive (15 thousand US dollars).
The third-place winner will receive (5 thousand US dollars).
