The President of Ain Shams University participates at the celebration of the Japanese Embassy in preparation for the first forum of universities in Hiroshima

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and a delegation of university professors participated at the celebration held by the Embassy of Japan in Cairo in preparation for the first forum of universities in Hiroshima. The delegation included Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, Egyptologist and archaeologist at Ain Shams University and former Minister of Antiquities, and Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun.

Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Egypt, stressed the importance of cooperation between Egypt and Japan in the field of education, as it is one of the most prominent features of the close relationship between the two countries

He said during the ceremony that one of the most prominent features of this cooperation is the promotion of scientific and academic exchanges between Hiroshima University and a number of Egyptian universities through the visit of a delegation of the most prominent officials of higher education institutions and university presidents in Egypt, especially those that include the Japanese language departments of Hiroshima City early next month, to participate in the first forum organized by Hiroshima University.

In his speech during the ceremony, the ambassador indicated that Hiroshima University, which is one of the most prestigious universities in Japan, is considered one of the most active universities in Egypt in promoting scientific exchange between the two countries in broad fields such as medicine, teaching Japanese language, and participating in the management of the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology.

He added that the Universities Forum is part of the 75+75 anniversary project, which includes celebrating the relations between Egypt and Hiroshima, and that the forum will include a number of events such as holding seminars to highlight cooperation between the two countries in the field of antiquities, of which the Grand Egyptian Museum is the clearest example.
