The Faculty of Law Council honors Advisor Ahmed Saad El-Din and sets the criteria for obtaining Prof. Hamdi Abdel Rahman's award for the best doctoral dissertations

The Faculty of Law Council held its periodic meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of the Vice Deans and members of the Council.

At the outset, the Council honored Advisor Ahmed Saad El-Din, the First Undersecretary of the Council of Representatives, and a member of the Council from abroad, where the Dean of the Faculty and the members praised the distinguished attendance and the important role that His Excellency played over the course of two academic years as a member of the Council from abroad, during which he provided all support to the Faculty and its programs. And they expressed their desire to continue his sovereignty as a member of it.

The council discussed the objective controls and the formation of a scientific committee to determine the winner of Prof. Hamdi Abdel Rahman’s award for the best doctoral dissertations during the academic year 2022/2023 AD.

It is an award approved by the faculty and university councils and bears the name of one of the most important civil law jurists in Egypt and the Arab world in recent times. It aims to encourage distinguished scientific research and support young researchers.

The council also reviewed a detailed analysis of the results of the May exams for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, approved the work of the examiners' committees, approved the promotions of some faculty staff and their assistants, registered some doctoral dissertations, and formed committees to judge a number of them.

The Council praised the efforts of the Scientific Research Ethics Committee at the faculty, approved its recommendations, and appreciated the result of its work in increasing respect for intellectual property rights on the part of researchers, spreading the culture of the importance of adherence to it, and raising the level of submitted dissertations. Especially since this procedure was accompanied by holding a “seminar” for each doctoral dissertation project before it was registered, and teaching the research project course as a basic course for postgraduate diplomas, according to a collective author on the principles of legal research prepared by a group of faculty professors.

In the context of praising the efforts of the Scientific Research Ethics Committee, the dean of the faculty indicated that whoever aims for change, development, and reform must be patient, and be aware that every development has opponents as well as supporters.

The Council of the Faculty also commended the distinguished efforts made by faculty members and their assistants in the work of written and oral exams, which led to their completion to the fullest.
