Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his happiness at being present at the conclusion of the Ain Shams Innovates Competition in its fourth edition, expressing his thanks to the vice-presidents of the university and the deans of the faculties and those in charge of this important event for the success of this idea, which began four years ago, stressing that innovation and entrepreneurship have not become a luxury Rather, it is a duty and a basic requirement in education.
Praising the state’s interest in innovation and supporting emerging ideas, which is represented in the Innovators’ Care Fund to support innovators and their ideas to be startup companies that graduate from universities and add to the national economy.
His Excellency also thanked everyone who assumed the responsibility of managing the Innovation Center, adding that the succession of successful departments is evidence that Ain Shams University is rich in its cadres, and His Excellency also praised the spirit of cooperation between the pillars of the innovation department at Ain Shams University.
He stressed that the university seeks to invest in its children since their first year at the university in order for them to discover themselves, pointing to the increasing number of participants, as well as the support of many ministries, government agencies and institutions, including the Ministry of Military Production, Communications, Industry, the Arab Organization for Industrialization and multinational companies, Technical University of Berlin , October 6 University and others, in addition to the Central Bank and Banque Misr, which represents cohesion between higher education and applied scientific research and communication with various institutions in order to come up with innovative and new ideas that add to the national economy, which is the desired goal of these activities.
In his speech, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud explained that four years have passed since the launch of the Ain Shams innovate competition, with the participation of all university faculties, and perhaps what makes us happy is the entire family of Ain Shams University, whether students or graduates, or members of the teaching staff and the supporting staff, or administrators, everyone is doing their best to highlight the competition In this honorable image, at a time when the innovation and entrepreneurship file is of paramount importance, as the Egyptian state pays special attention to it and receives great support from the political leadership. It is also one of the major challenges facing Ain Shams University and even the whole world, which it seeks to overcome thanks to technological progress and the development of the digital world.
His Excellency stressed that the competition is a golden opportunity to gain knowledge and learn from pioneers in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, noting that Ain Shams University plays a pioneering role in promoting innovation and encouraging entrepreneurship in Egypt, and perhaps the presence of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the best evidence of that leadership.
Prof. Abdul Fattah Saoud expressed his pride in the huge number of emerging projects and innovative ideas presented by university students, stressing that the university will continue to work hard to provide the appropriate environment and necessary support for our students, faculty members and researchers in order to transform their innovative ideas into sustainable and innovative projects.
Prof. Ayman Saleh indicated that the university is trying to communicate the idea of a knowledge society to all Ain Shams University employees, as it is one of the university's responsibilities as a fourth-generation university, adding that Egypt's ranking in the Global Knowledge Index is 56 out of 154 countries, which is the same as its ranking in innovation, except that the best center for Egypt He is 35 in higher education, pointing out that Egypt has a promising future in adopting the knowledge economy and digital transformation.
Prof. Ghada Farouk explained that one of the goals of the university is to transform the ideas of students and researchers to come to light and be translated into real projects implemented on the ground, from the perspective of community service to move society from a society that consumes knowledge to a producer of it, through innovative centers such as the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain University sun.
She also pointed out the need for this to be reflected in changing the methods and mechanisms of teaching in schools, in order to creative student.
Prof. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Fund for Supporting Innovators and Talents at the Ministry of Higher Education and supervisor of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, confirmed that Ain Shams University has become a role model and an example that we aim to repeat in various Egyptian universities in its ability to discover innovative students, researchers, faculty members and graduates.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Buhairi, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, explained that in this competition we aim to discover innovative ideas that exist among students and faculty members in order to work on them and crystallize them to form a start-up company that graduates from the university. He also referred to the great support from the university administration headed by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini and gentlemen of the House of Representatives.
Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, explained that for the fourth year in a row, Ain Shams University is still presenting the largest university competition in innovation and entrepreneurship. To discover the best innovators and entrepreneurs who did not spare their efforts to present their best ideas throughout the competition period.
She pointed out that the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center is one of the largest innovation centers in Egyptian universities, and it is one of the pillars of the innovation circle that the university established under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini. Egyptian business through incubation programs and business projects organized by the center in cooperation with our partners from industry, ministries and civil society organizations, in addition to providing assistance services to innovators and geniuses to support the transfer of technology through innovation competitions, creators' discovery programs and other related activities.
She added that in this version of the competition, more than 400 students, researchers and entrepreneurs from Ain Shams University participated in presenting their ideas and business models in areas related to the fourth industrial revolution, sustainability and community services, and 120 of them were accepted for a training camp to qualify them for the next stages in addition to Giving them guidance and counseling sessions from experts in various fields, and today we celebrate together the winners in the three tracks of the competition in a forum that was specially organized to celebrate them, as the number of winners reached 18 winners and 2 received a financial incentive award and opportunities to attend the summer training camp in Berlin, Germany.
