Meeting with the President of Ain Shams University and the Regional Director of the Francophone University Agency in the Middle East

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, met Prof. Jean-Noel Ballio, Regional Director of the University Agency of La Francophonie in the Middle East, at the Zaffran Palace, with the aim of discussing how to implement a project for a medical research center with an African dimension, based on a mandate from His Excellency the President of the Republic, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

This project will be implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt in cooperation with the University Agency of Francophonie (AUF), which helps to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and African partners and work with distinguished research centers and member universities of the Agency. The meeting was witnessed by Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Abdel Nasser Sengab, former Vice President for Graduate Studies and Professor of Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The presence of agency was represented by Dr. Jean-Luc Dumas (France), Managing Director and former President of the International Conference of Deans of Medical Schools for French Expression CIDMEF and former Dean of the Department of Health, Medicine, and Human Biology at the Sorbonne University Paris-North, and Dr. Claudine Luguet Surgo (Burkina Faso) Professor of Radiology and Head of the Department at the hospital University of Ouagadougou, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, former Minister of Health of Burkina Faso, currently Deputy Director General of CIDMEF, Dr. Rasha Ramadan, Director of the National Office of the University Agency of the Francophonie in Egypt and Dr. Ramy Nasser is a teacher at New Giza University and a pediatrician.

He also participated in the meeting from the Egyptian side, Prof. Amani Osama, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, and Prof. Manal Hamdy El-Sayed Professor of Pediatrics and Head of the Clinical Research Unit – at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, founding member of the National Committee for Hepatitis Control, Secretary General of the Egyptian Society for the Care of Liver Patients, and Prof. Asst. Dr. Tamer Emara, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Shereen Fawaz, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Khaled Abu Zaid, Prof. Maha Nasr, and Dr. Ahmed Essam.
