on Ain Shams University’s keenness to achieve excellence and competition, and as a continuation of Ain Shams University’s leadership in the field of awards through its pioneering and distinguished scholars in various fields, and to benefit from the practical experience of recipients of prestigious awards, the University Awards Office continued its meetings in cooperation with the electronic portal, and held its forty-first meeting for recipients of prestigious awards as well as pioneers, which was held at the University’s Networking and Information Technology Center on July 10, 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Islam Hegazy, Executive Director of the Center for Networking and Information Technology, Prof. Rasha Ismail, Director of the Electronic Portal, Prof. Alaa Abdel Halim Farag, General Supervisor of the Awards Office at the University.

The Awards Office hosted Prof. Mustafa Mahmoud Aref, professor emeritus in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, and recipient of the Ain Shams Appreciation Award in the field of Technological Sciences 2022, where his excellency had distinguished scientific efforts represented in the scientific supervision of more than 21 doctoral dissertations and more than 50 master’s theses, and his excellency discussed more than He has published 83 master’s and doctoral thesis, and he has published scientific research in local and international journals in about 162 papers. He participated in many national committees and quality committees, and he has authored chapters in international books in the field of specialization.

His Excellency emphasized the prominent role played by Ain Shams University in supporting scientific research and encouraging international publishing, and he gave his sincere thanks to the university administration headed by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini and the deputies for providing all forms of support and facilities, In addition to supporting participation in conferences, equipping research laboratories, and overcoming all difficulties facing researchers to achieve excellence.

At the end of the meeting, His Eminence gave a speech to the young researchers at the university, where he stressed the importance of scientific research and the importance of the interest of young researchers in the main qualities represented in patience, perseverance, hard work, and benefit from the experiences of scientists and the university, in addition to interest in scientific research based on innovation and innovation for the advancement and leadership of the university, and striving to compete for excellence at the global level and work to continue to improve the international ranking of the university.
