A conference on injuries and fractures of children and adolescents, at the Department of Orthopedics, at the Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the Egyptian Orthopedic Association

Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Al-Zaher Hassan, Head of the Orthopedics Department, Ain Shams University, Prof. Tariq Hassan Abdulaziz, Head of the Pediatric Orthopedics Unit, Ain Shams University, and Prof. Hany Mowafi, President of the Egyptian Orthopedic Association, opened a conference on injuries and fractures of children and adolescents, which was organized by the Department of Orthopedics at Ain Shams Medicine in cooperation with the Egyptian Orthopedic Association, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University.

The faculty staff of the department, young doctors, and a large number of lecturers from various universities and educational institutes participated in the conference, which was held on Thursday and Friday 22-23/6 at the Development and Training Center.

Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, praised the history of the Department of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, and its role in raising the academic and scientific level of the faculty, stressing that the university and the Faculty of Medicine always keep pace with all global developments and events and that the faculty supports all departments in catching up keep pace with global developments.

Prof. Al-Zaher Hassan, head of the department, confirmed that the conference deals with the latest methods in treating fractures in children and adolescents. He thanked the faculty and the university for their continuous support for the department.

Prof. Tariq Hassan Abdel Aziz praised the support of Prof. Al-Zaher Hassan for scientific research and the academic side and praised the wonderful effort made by Prof. Shadi Samir for organizing the conference and also thanked the faculty and the university for their continuous support.

A number of workshops were organized on the sidelines of the conference, sponsored by Prof. Tariq Hassan Abdel Aziz and Prof. Shadi Samir, which dealt with the latest types of external fixators TL-HEX, which is used in the repair of deformities and complex fractures (it is worth noting that this device has been introduced recently in Ain Shams Specialized Hospital). This device is characterized by multi-axial repair, with the help of a special computer program, it is also lightweight and compact compared to other external fixation devices.

Another workshop was organized to repair deformities at the top of the femur using the latest types of self-locking slides.
