Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, praised the societal role played by Ain Shams University with the executive bodies in the governorate, especially in the field of raising the cultural level of citizens and participating in initiatives targeting the neediest areas, during his inspection of the activities of the comprehensive development convoy of Ain Shams University in the Mahrousa district.
The Governor of Cairo also appreciated the role of civil society organizations in the participation of the executive bodies in providing services aimed at improving the quality of life provided to citizens in these areas within the framework of the state's endeavor to change their lives for the better.
The activities of the comprehensive development convoy of Ain Shams University concluded in the Mahrousa neighborhood, which was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University, in coordination with the Cairo Governorate and in cooperation with the Good and Peace Association for Sustainable Development. And that is under the auspices of Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, coordinated by Prof. Jihan Rajab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Hala Sweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Hiyam Tantawy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Mohamed Faraj, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Community Service and Environmental Development, prof. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Girls for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of the Media Center, Prof. Rasha Bunduq, Secretary General of the Charity and Peace Association for Sustainable Development, Dr. Islam El-Said, Director of the Center for Adult Education at Ain Shams University; And supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Hamza, acting as Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Mr. Tariq Amer, Director General of the Environmental Projects Affairs Department, and in the presence of Major General Gamal Abdel Moneim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Good and Peace Association for Sustainable Development, Major General Dr. Osama Saqr, member of the Association’s Board of Directors, Major General Engineer Marwan Al-Toukhi, Executive Director of the Association.
The convoy witnessed a great turnout from citizens, and the comprehensive developmental convoy of Ain Shams University included 6 medical clinics, including the internal medicine clinic 128 cases, the orthopedic clinic 240 cases, the dermatology clinic 106 cases, the pediatric clinic 67 cases, the nose and ear clinic 24 cases, and the obstetrics and gynecology clinic 50 cases. There are 625 cases, and 5 cases have been transferred to Al-Demerdash Hospital.
The convoy carried out awareness campaigns against chronic diseases and their prevention, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, heart disease, reproductive health, first aid and how to deal with accidents, breast cancer prevention, risk factors - the method of breast self-examination, family planning, the dangers of addiction and its impact on the individual, family, and society. How to manage stress to improve our psychological and social health, proper nutrition for women during pregnancy and lactation, malnutrition and proper growth of children and rumors, their definition, types, dangers, and how to confront them.
In addition to distributing awareness booklets to those who frequent awareness campaigns and various clinics, including awareness about public health - proper nutrition - hygiene - dealing with burns (children's awareness booklets specially prepared for children were also distributed, as well as in-kind gifts were distributed to children (games - comics).
The artistic and cultural activity in the convoy also included the implementation of several activities to develop cultural and artistic awareness among children, under the supervision of the Faculty of Specific Education in coordination with the General Department of Child Culture - the General Authority for Culture Palaces. It included a workshop to teach children to draw on clothes, workshops to teach children the painting on the face, puppet theater, and a theatrical sketch entitled (Behavior and Health Among Our Children).
The meat was also distributed to (500) families headed by a woman, on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Adha, with the participation of the Good and Peace Association for Sustainable Development, in the interest of Ain Shams University to establish the principle of social equality and based on the social responsibility of Ain Shams University, along with social assistance.
The literacy activity was implemented in coordination between the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education and the "Adult Education" Center, where an immediate literacy test was held for (81) citizens, in cooperation with the Charity and Safety Association for Sustainable Development.
