Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, witnessed the celebration of Masr Shorian El ATAA Association, in cooperation with the World Health Organization - Egypt, on the World Blood Donation Day, which was held under the slogan "We live because you give", which was held in the Children's Garden.
Where Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, delivered the opening speech of the ceremony, stressing the importance of spreading the culture of blood donation among all segments of society, especially youth, and urging giving because of its great return on the donor and the patient, and if charity and giving with money has a great reward with God, and it is multiplied many times over, then charity with blood is of a higher status and greater reward. Because it is the cause of life, and it is a part of the human being, and the human being is more precious than money, as if the blood donor bestows a part of his physical being to his brother out of love and altruism, and through it is the revival of the soul about which God Almighty said: {and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.}.
He pointed to a number of health benefits accruing to the blood donor, the most important of which is the contribution to stimulating the bone marrow in the renewal of blood cells and the contribution to maintaining the health of the liver by maintaining normal iron levels in the blood and reducing the risk of heart attacks, in addition to reducing oxidation factors and inflammatory stimuli.
He added that Ain Shams University is working hard to provide a pioneering model, as usual among universities, to spread the culture of blood donation and intends to hold a number of events.
During his speech, a. Dr.. Mohsen Al-Alfi, Professor of Hematology and Pediatric Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Artery of Giving Association. years to provide safe blood for every patient, explaining the importance of the donor being regular in his blood donation, expressing his deep thanks and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud who donated 50,000 Egyptian pounds in favor of Misr Shorian El Atta Association, believing in the importance of the association’s role and emphasizing his full support for spreading the culture of blood donation in our dear Egypt.
Also, Prof. Mohsen, praised the efforts and role of the National Blood Bank, Ain Shams Blood Bank, and the World Health Organization in Egypt.
This came in the presence of symbols from the World Health Organization, Egypt, the artery of giving, the Ministry of Culture, leaders of Ain Shams Medicine, and sports teams from Heliopolis Club, among them the playwright, Professor Mohamed Nassif, member of the Supreme Council of Culture, and Prof. Hala Suwaid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, and a group of art stars and those interested in the matter.
Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud and Prof. Mohsen Al-Alfi presented a number of donors with certificates of appreciation, in recognition of their giving.
