Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, received Mr. Arturas Gaylionas,the Ambassador of Lithuania in Cairo, in the presence of Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Sahar Musa, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Ahmed Khafagy, Supervisor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Ashraf Abu Khalaf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Amr Mabrouk, Professor of Cosmetics at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office, Prof. Hiam Refaat Tantawy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Hamza Ali – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Prof. Saeed Kamal – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini reviewed the history of the Faculty of Medicine, which recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, and its departments. He also referred to an Egyptian research center, which seeks to be a leading center in scientific research in Egypt and the entire region, It contains 6 scientific research departments, in cooperation with the faculties of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, as well as the corresponding medical faculties at the regional level, for a better health future by promoting excellence, developing talented researchers, influencing research and engaging patients, the public and professionals, in cooperation with researchers in Biomedicine and Health.
The meeting witnessed ways of cooperation between Lithuanian universities and Ain Shams University in the fields of the medical sector, basic sciences, computers, information sciences and languages, as well as ways of joint cooperation in scientific research related to veterinary medicine.
After the meeting, Mr. Arturas Gaylionas, Ambassador of Lithuania, visited the Zaffran Museum and acquainted its holdings.
