For the first time in the Faculty of Engineering…"A workshop between Cardiff University and Ain Shams University for climate"

Through close scientific and research cooperation between the Acoustics Center at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University and the Advanced Acoustics Laboratory at Cardiff University, and within the framework of the project “Monitoring Operating Conditions for Sustainable Technologies to Mitigate Climate Change” funded through UK-Egypt Partnerships in Higher Education - Climate Change Grant of the Council British Council, a workshop was held between the two universities of Cardiff - Ain Shams for Climate "the first" in the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.

During the workshop, Prof. John Mccrory from the University of Cardiff in Britain presented a seminar on advanced acoustics used in detecting faults and problems in wind turbines.

Mrs. Berihan El Shafei, Director of Scientific Research Funding at the British Council, presented a seminar on the British Council's efforts to support research and scientific partnerships between Egyptian and British universities to combat climate change.

ASUWIND students also presented a seminar on their efforts and visions in the field of renewable energy and sustainability.

Within the framework of the workshop, a training was held for the students in the field of repairing electrical devices and tools.

It is noteworthy that the project "Monitoring Operating Conditions for Sustainable Technologies to Mitigate Climate Change" aims to develop an educational system to teach Egyptian and British students about the means and methods of monitoring the safety of wind turbines and solar cells by designing electronic experiments that simulate laboratory experiments, and conducting various trainings for students in the field of acoustics.

The project is headed by Dr. Ahmed Hesham Abdel Aziz from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University and Dr. John Mccrory from the Faculty of Engineering, Cardiff University, UK.

On the other hand, Cardiff University is in the second percent of the best universities according to the 2023 university rankings, and therefore the scientific and research partnership between our prestigious university and Cardiff University indicates a mutual gain between the two universities.
