The Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun opens the activities of the Japanese Cultural Day in the presence of representatives of the Japan Foundation in Cairo

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, opened the activities of the Japanese Cultural Day, in the presence of Mr. Anodera Kento from the Japan Foundation in Cairo, Mr. Satoshi Kawakita, and a group of faculty staff, teaching assistants, and students, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Cairo.

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed during her speech that the activities of the Japanese Cultural Day have been held annually in the Faculty of Al-Alsun since 2012, where students of the Japanese Language Department present many presentations to introduce Japanese culture.

This day helps to strengthen the spirit of cooperation among the students of the Japanese Language Department, as students from all academic teams participate in various activities and present many singing, theatrical, and show performances to introduce Japanese culture.

Students also display paper figures made in the Japanese style of Origami and teach visitors the art of Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) and write their names in Japanese.

During the preparations for the events of this special day, the students organize, manage and implement all the shows under the supervision of the faculty staff of the department, which helps them in acquiring various social skills through teamwork, adherence to training dates, and coordination between them and lectures, which also gives them the skill of organizing and managing time.

Through the preparations for this day, students apply practical skills such as translation and marketing, on a limited scale, such as translating Japanese songs that will be shown during the day into Arabic, dubbing cartoon clips from Arabic into Japanese, as well as publicity for the day through social media platforms, and all this earns them the necessary skills to enter the labor market competitions in various fields.

When Egyptian culture meets Japanese culture, we witness a festive birth with special characteristics. It is more like an intellectual, literary, and cultural forum that reflects the cohesion of the two great peoples in civilized creativity befitting the civilization of the Egyptian nation and the progress of the Japanese state.

She took this opportunity to address my children who are studying in the Japanese language department at the faculty and ask them to understand the spirit of Japanese culture and the morals of the Japanese people who command the respect of the whole world and to delve deeper into reading the Japanese heritage and mixing it with innovations from various writings so that it has the scientific vision that qualifies it to enter labor market competitions and compete with others in various fields.
