The Ministry of Higher Education launches the "Be Ready" initiative to qualify youth and recent graduates for the labor market

Within the framework of implementing the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which was launched by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched the "Be Ready" initiative to qualify young people and recent graduates for the labor market, in cooperation with the International Labor Organization in Cairo (ILO) and the British Agency for International Development (UK AID).

This came within the framework of implementing the cooperation agreement that was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the International Labor Organization. To launch the "Higher Education for Career Counseling for Employment" program, funded by the United Kingdom.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, confirmed the interest of the Ministry’s strategy in the professional path support file, as the Ministry follows the regional approach to understanding the various economic activities, and the concepts of comprehensive development at the economic, social and environmental levels, and linking them to higher education and the concepts of the fourth generation of universities, in a way that contributes to supporting the Ministry’s role in serving development issues in society. And achieving interdependence and cooperation between those universities and labor markets, through innovation and entrepreneurship, pointing to the importance of integration between the academic and professional path through academic programs and certificates, in addition to developing programs in innovation, entrepreneurship and professional skills development.

Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training and Qualification for the Labor Market, indicated that the initiative aims to develop students’ skills and qualify them for the labor market to find future jobs, meet the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market, provide vocational guidance, develop vocational and job services platforms and develop youth skills and capabilities; To obtain better job opportunities, help support comprehensive economic growth throughout the country, and provide a suitable environment for the labor market that will link the outputs of higher education with the qualifications of graduates, and meet the actual needs of industrialists in various governmental, private and international sectors, in line with achieving the vision The Ministry to achieve the sustainable development strategy (Egypt Vision 2030)

The initiative aims to provide the necessary training for more than 2,000 young people, and to create more than 1,000 decent jobs by the end of this year, through funding provided by the donor, the British Aid Program (UK AID), in partnership with the iCareer Foundation and Al Alfi Foundation.
