Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today to review proposals for developing the visual image of the Ring Road, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Hossam El-Din Abdel-Fattah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University. Dr. Akram Farouk, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Dr. Tarek Ibrahim, Director of the Architectural Design Support Institute at Cairo University, and Dr. Ayman Farid Hamza, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Strategic Planning.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister indicated that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research had been assigned, earlier, that Cairo and Ain Shams Universities, through their faculties of engineering, would develop a civilized vision for developing the visual image of the Ring Road, in light of the preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The ring road is one of the main ways to reach the museum.

During the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education said: Within the framework of the Prime Minister's directive that the two universities prepare a plan to develop the visual vision of the ring road, after the completion of the removals and expansions that took place on the road, two proposals have already been submitted by the two universities, which will be discussed today.

Ambassador Nader Saad, official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, said that the meeting reviewed the proposals of the two universities to develop the visual image of the ring road, as it was indicated - in the proposal of the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University - that the ring road can be divided into a number of sectors, according to the nature of the place that overlooks it.

The proposal included planting palm trees on both sides of the road; In order to give an aesthetic look and it can be used as a windbreak, in the part overlooking the desert areas of the ring road, this proposal includes the establishment of a tourist activities area overlooking the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Cairo University's proposal also included the creation of murals on the road that illustrate Egypt's archaeological features, with the addition of palm trees on both sides of the road to complement the visual image of the road, in addition to painting and renovating religious buildings on both sides of the ring road with lighting in the facades that enhance the aesthetic appearance of the buildings, as well as painting Residential buildings using consistent colors with some drawings and decorations that express the Egyptian civilization, adding heritage and mural elements to random residential buildings, or adding green walls and climbing plants on the exterior facades of buildings overlooking the ring road, provided that the design is inspired by the facade of a Pharaonic temple old in vertical lines.

Ambassador Nader Saad added that during the meeting, the proposal of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University to develop the visual image of the ring road was presented, which included a proposal to install perforated metal panels made of perforated stainless steel that are resistant to weather factors, and to install solar lighting poles, advertising screens, and green shading elements. and sustainability.

The Ain Shams University plan included a second proposal, during which a stone wall decorated with pharaonic motifs would be erected at appropriate heights, in addition to solar lighting poles, advertising screens, and green elements for the purpose of shading and sustainability.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the completion of detailed studies for each area of the Ring Road, indicating that the two proposals could be integrated together to produce a civilized image of the Ring Road, adding that work will be started immediately to develop the visual vision of the Ring Road after the completion of the detailed plans for each. sector and compatibility.
