The Faculty of Education celebrates the International Day of Francophonie

Within the framework of the keenness of Ain Shams education to consolidate the values of dialogue, solidarity, and respect for cultural and human diversity, and under the auspices of Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Aladdin Abdel Halim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the French Language Department of the Faculty organized the celebration of the International Day of Francophonie Under the supervision of Prof. Maha Morcos, Chair of the Council of the French Language Department, and with the coordination of Dr. Nahla Bassiouni, a faculty member in the department, to emphasize the interest and promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity, as the investment of the language element shared by a large group of peoples acts as a driving force for the paths of progress and development in all Its economic, political, cultural and social dimensions, to support sustainable development.

It is worth noting that it has been celebrated since 2010, the day that corresponds to the fortieth anniversary of the International Francophone Organization, which was officially founded in 1970.

The celebration comes within the framework of the efforts of the United Nations in the field of multiculturalism in order to raise the level of awareness of history and culture, and the celebration of the International Day of Francophonie reflects the diversity offered by this language in various fields to a large number of countries, the most important of which is tourism, which is reflected in its economy.

The celebration began with a speech by Dr. Dina Salah, a lecturer in the French Language Department, about the importance of the celebration and focusing on the influential Francophone personality at the regional and international levels, and focusing on the prominent role played by the International Organization of La Francophonie. Dr. Wael Fouad, a lecturer in the French Language Department, discussed in his speech in it, with the students, the origin of Francophone in French and its impact on the Arabic language and life in Egypt and its impact on some street names and some traded words. And high social communication, which is reflected in strengthening the ties of international cooperation and sustainable development.
