The Department of Environment and Community Service Projects at the Faculty of Archeology was held under the auspices of Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty, and supervision of Prof. Ahmed Al-Shawki, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, and Sawsan Essa, supervisor of the administration, and Dr. Rasha the inspector, Director of the Department, held a symposium entitled "Women in Civilization and Heritage" within the framework of the college's celebration of International Women's Day. Dr. Rabab Jeddah, a teacher of ancient Egyptian antiquities, gave a lecture on the freedom and rights of women in ancient Egypt. Rania Zidan, teacher of Greek and Roman antiquities, gave a lecture on the life of women in the Greco-Roman period, their proximity and distance from power, then Dr. Nora Hussein, teacher of Islamic Coptic arts and antiquities, delivered a lecture on the status of women in the Coptic era. The seminar ended with a lecture by Dr. Shaima Abdullah, teacher of Islamic archeology, on marriage contracts through papyrus sheets.
