The second forum for graduates of the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science, in cooperation with the University's Alumni Follow-up Department, held the activities of the second forum for graduates and community parties in the Microbiology Department. The forum coincides with the department's celebration of the 30th anniversary of its inception.

The forum came under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Muhammad Al-Satohi, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Executive Director of the Alumni Follow-up Department, opened the activities of the forum, in the presence of Prof. Eman Abdel-Azim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Amani Suleiman, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Mohamed Montaser, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hala Muhammad Abu Shadi, Acting Chairman of the Microbiology Department Council and Quality Coordinator for the Microbiology and Chemistry Program and Prof. Hamdi Swilam, Director of the Quality Unit at the Faculty, Prof. Yusriya Shtayyeh, former head of the Microbiology Department.

It is noteworthy that the conference is coordinated by Prof. Enas Al-Shatouri, quality coordinator for the microbiology program, aims to maintain the relationship between the faculty graduates and the university community, as well as those working in various fields related to the specializations of the Faculty of Science, which contributes to the exchange of experiences.

In his speech, Prof. Muhammad Al-Sutuhi indicated that the alumni forum is the result of diligent work for a whole year, and the microbiology department is one of the large and important departments in the faculty due to its great successes, achievements and scientific gains. The credit goes to the efforts of the heads of departments and the follow-up of the faculty administration from the vice deans and graduates and the support of students.

As Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti indicated the role of the Alumni Association, which is the largest official association of Ain Shams University, to communicate with each other and exchange their experiences, which contributes to determining the needs of graduates for the labor market and providing workshops to qualify and train them to join the labor market.

Her Excellency also added that the administration offers various activities for graduates, such as concerts, medical, artistic, entertainment and cultural services.

During the forum, the establishment of the microbiology department was introduced, which is divided into 3 divisions, as follows: microbiology / chemistry, microbiology (single), and applied and analytical microbiology.

In addition to the department's adoption of the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and academic standards, pointing out the specifications of the graduate of the microbiology department.

The forum aims to create a link between the student and the graduate and permanent affiliation with the department. The college graduate works in several positions, including researchers in specialized research centers, medical analysis laboratories, laboratories of pharmaceutical companies, food factories, quality control laboratories at the Export and Import Authority at the airport, the Ministry of Environment, and water purification and treatment plants.

A group of graduates of the Faculty of Science participated in the activities of the forum, and they are Dr. Muhammad Kilani, Deputy Technical Director of the Department of Microbiology at the Central Laboratory for the Analysis of Pesticide Residues and Heavy Metals in Food at the Agricultural Research Center, batch of Microbiology Chemistry Department in 2004, and Muhammad Ali Othman, a graduate of the department, batch of 1997, District sales manager, SANOFI Pharma, Cardiovascular business unit, and Karim Essam, a quality control specialist in a company Sigma Pharmaceutical Industries, Class of 2019 and Prof. Hadeel Abdel Radi, assistant researcher at the National Center for Water Research, and Dr. Mahmoud Kamel, talent and performance leader, and Osama Gamal, a second-level student in microbiology, chemistry, and a psychological support lecturer.

The forum concluded with awarding certificates of honor and taking memorial photos.
