The Faculty of Education organizes an intensive training course on "Environmental Economics and the Art of Natural Resources Management" in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment

Within the framework of the community service and environmental development sector in raising Ain Shams, awareness of the need to preserve the sustainability of resources and energy without disturbing the balance of the natural environment in light of Egypt's Vision 2030, and in light of the implementation of the directives of His Excellency Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in this regard, regarding the need to continue raising awareness for all university employees in preserving the environment and working on its development. The Faculty of Education sponsored Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the faculty, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, represented by the Environmental Affairs Agency, through the Central Administration for Organization, Management and Training, implemented an intensive training course for faculty members from all disciplines in the Faculty over two days.

The training was conducted by a group of experts in the field of the environment, represented by Dr. Heba Salah El-Din Mahmoud Shaarawy, an expert in environmental affairs and climate change and supervisor of the Central Administration for Coastal Regions at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and Director General of Policies and Departments at the Ministry of Environment, as well as Professor. Ahmed Mahmoud Abdel Halim, Dean of the National Institute of Sciences Seas and fisheries.

In her training of faculty staff, Dr. Heba Shaarawy emphasized the foundations and principles of environmental economics, as well as areas of interest in environmental economics as well as the challenges facing it. Then, she focused on the seventeen goals of sustainable development in Egypt's vision 2030, and explained the achievements of the Ministry of Environment in the field of environmental economics.

Her Excellency prepared a workshop accompanying the training course on the blue economy, and on the second day of the training, her Excellency focused on the principles and fields of the green economy, as well as environmental accounting as a tool for achieving sustainable development, while Professor. Ahmed Abdel Halim, Dean of the National Institute of Seas and Fisheries, focused on the impact of environmental pollution in his training on the Egyptian national economy.

The training program was distinguished by the interaction of all faculty staff with the lecturers, and the efforts made by the Egyptian state in preserving the environment and the efforts of the Ministry of Environment were praised, as well as the Central Administration for Training in continuous awareness programs for all groups of society, and at the end of the intensive training course over the two days

A set of recommendations were made, centered on the need to educate all segments of society, especially faculty staff, for their children about the importance of preserving the environment and its importance in achieving sustainable development, the necessity of applying the concepts of green economy and green marketing, with its multiple advantages that contribute to achieving the concept of sustainable development on the ground. Preserving the environment is everyone's responsibility.

In conclusion, the importance of this type of training was emphasized, which contributes to raising awareness of the requirements of the environment and its preservation, which is reflected in the comprehensive development of the environment to achieve the mission of the faculty and university and the vision of our beloved Egypt 2030.
