For the fifth time, Ain Shams University wins the first place in the CFA Financial Analysts Research Competition and represents Egyptian universities in the international competition

Under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Prof. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Hayam Wehba, Professor of Investment and Finance at the Faculty of Business and Scientific Supervisor of the CFA Team at Ain Shams University and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business for Graduate Studies and Research, announced that the Faculty of Business team representing Ain Shams University won first place for the fifth time and won the competition cup for the research competition for CFA financial analysts, which is organized by the Certified Financial Analysts Association (CFA) for the year 2023 at the level of all 26 Egyptian universities participating in the competition.

Prof. Hayam Wehba added that the Ain Shams University team was able, after conducting many financial analysis and forecasting processes for economic indicators, evaluating international risks, and the company's performance in the pharmaceutical industry, the subject of competition in the field of social responsibility, environmental performance, and governance, with the aim of determining the fair market value of an international company.

Her Excellency stated that with this victory, the Faculty of Business team at Ain Shams University will represent Egypt in the competition at the international level this April.

Her Excellency thanked CFA Society Egypt, the organizer of the competition, the arbitration committee and all employees.

Regarding the stages of preparation and entry for this competition, Prof. Hayam Wahba said that the competition was announced for students of the fourth year of the Arabic language division, English language, and the French section, as well as students of the third and fourth year with the credit hour system in both Arabic and English, and postgraduate students at the college since last August, as preparations began to choose the team that represented the university a month ago. Where he started preparing to choose the team that represented the university since September 2022.

This was followed by examining the applications of the applicants and holding personal interviews for the applicants, going through the third stage, which is a qualifying exam for the applicants and an internal research competition within the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University as a simulation of the official competition CFA Research, and the students representing Ain Shams University who were able to reach the last stages were selected to be the team that Represent the university in the current year 2023 competition.

It is worth noting that Ain Shams University won first place over 26 universities in Egypt participating in the competition. The American University in Cairo (AUC); The British University in Cairo (BUE); Cairo University; Coventry University; German University in Cairo (GUC); Helwan University; and the Naval Academy - University of London.

It is noteworthy that Ain Shams University, represented by the Faculty of Business, is the only Egyptian university that won first place in the CFA competition five times and previously represented Egypt in the regional competitions for Europe and the Middle East, which were held in London, Dublin, and Zurich during the years 2013, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
