For the first time outside the European Union, the conference "Vaclav Havel and the European Dialogue" was held under the title The Power of Dialogue at the Faculty of Al-Alsun

The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Czech Embassy in Cairo, the American University in Cairo, and UNESCO, organized for the first time in Egypt and outside the European Union the conference "Vaclav Havel and European Dialogue... The Power of Dialogue", under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and the Czech Center in Cairo, and in the presence of Mr. Older Cheikh Vondrushka, Cultural Attache` at the Czech Embassy in Cairo, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and supervision of Prof. Dr. Khaled El-Beltagy, head of the Czech language department at the faculty.

During her inaugural speech, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the importance of building bridges of cultural cooperation with various parts of the world through the portal of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University. We are proud to announce that today's conference is being held in cooperation with a number of prestigious organizations: the Czech Embassy, the Czech Cultural Center, UNESCO, the American University in Cairo, and the Department of Czech Language at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University.

She began her speech by noting that the conference aims to build a mutual cultural dialogue between all international parties, and also aims to support creative approaches to the challenges of cultural and civilizational differences, as well as building platforms to avoid conflict and build strong ties between nations aimed at overcoming conflict and learning to live in peace.

For his part, Mr. Older Cheikh Vondrousa, Cultural Attache` at the Czech Embassy in Cairo, confirmed that the conference bears the name of the former President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, who ruled for 13 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the fall of communism in the Czech Republic in 1989. Havel was a writer, political activist, and political theorist. Also, he always called for dialogue, whether on the political, cultural, or social level, whether on the local or international level, so the conference was held periodically in many European capitals.

The activities of the conference witnessed the holding of two sessions. The first session was about the importance of dialogue, the concept of dialogue, its forms, and challenges presented by colleagues from the American University and the Baseera Center for opinion polling. In the second session, youth projects related to adopting dialogue as a means of communication and implementing projects were presented. Examples of projects that revolve around this were presented in this frame.
