The First International Conference on Remote Sensing Applications and Space Sciences was inaugurated in Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, from December 8 to 11, chaired by Prof. Muhammad Bayoumi Zahran, head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, and in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Sheren Muharram, President of the Institute of Electronics, Prof. Amr Zakaria, Head of the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, and Prof. Ali Amasha, Vice President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Prof. Ali Al-Dosari, President of the Saudi Geographical Society, Major General Ahmed Marzouk, Secretary General of the Red Sea Governorate, and Brigadier General Muhammad Abdul Hakim, the military advisor to the governorate.
The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in scientific partnership with Ain Shams University, the Russian RUDN University, the Saudi Geographical Society, the Military Survey Authority, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
In his speech at the opening of the conference, he explained a. Dr.. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the success of the partnership between Ain Shams University and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, which was represented in the Diploma in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, and the Diploma in Using the Internet of Things in Environmental Crisis Management, and training programs for manufacturing, operating and managing micro-satellites, and His Excellency pointed out the importance of geographic information systems and remote sensing in solving major problems in many scientific sectors; Such as environment, health, agriculture, engineering, urban planning and major projects in the country, and his sovereignty stressed the importance of the joint diploma between Ain Shams University and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences in improving the career path of graduates and their obtaining jobs once they graduate or are promoted in their workplaces.
Five researchers from Ain Shams University from the Faculties of Science, Education, Agriculture, Arts, Computers and Information are participating in the conference. Also, Dr. Rasha Bondok, coordinator of Ain Shams University in the professional diploma specializing in remote sensing and geographic information systems, participates at the exhibition of the conference to display the graduation projects of diploma students.
