On the International Day to Confront Violence against Women, Ain Shams University participates with one of its distinguished and winning projects in the Youth for Development initiative

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, under the supervision and presence of a Prof. Dr. Hayam Wehbe, Coordinator of Ain Shams University for the Youth Initiative for Development and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Commerce team representing Ain Shams University, at the invitation of the Ministry of Planning, participated in the Youth for Development initiative in the activities of the International Day to Confront Violence against Women, which was held at the British University in Cairo on Thursday Corresponding to November 25, 2022.

Participation came in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nadia Zakhary, former Minister of Scientific Research, representative of the National Council for Women, and Rapporteur of the Council's Scientific Research Committee, prof. Dr. Shadia Fahim, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the British University in Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Alaa, Head of the Human Rights Unit and Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and many representatives of the Ministry of Planning and the National Council for Women.

Where Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba thanks and appreciation the political leadership for its continuous support of women Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and the deputies, for their support and adoption of these important initiatives, which are related to societal issues in Egypt.

Her Excellency also explained that in response to the invitation of the Ministry of Planning to present the project during the activities of the day coinciding with the International Day to Confront Violence against Women, the team of Ain Shams University presented the winner of the Youth for Development initiative that was held last July, which consisted of faculty staff and teaching assistants at the University's Faculty of Commerce where the development project that the team participated in during the initiative was entitled "The Role of Information and Communication Technology in Confronting Violence against Women".

Where the team presented a technical presentation explaining the general idea of ​​the project, which included the most important innovative ways to confront physical violence against women, by providing and adapting various tools of information and communication technology, which serves the process of economic and social empowerment of women. Therefore, the pilot project aimed to provide a "non-profit community service" through "sustainable inclusive growth" in order to improve the social and economic conditions of women.

Also, Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba added that the team presented the stages of the project, which are as follows: The first stage, during which a “business model” consisting of nine main items was presented, and then it was based on “market research” to ensure the suitability and suitability of the idea for an application and to identify the target segment by conducting an electronic survey. Then he presented a "portfolio of solutions".

As for the second phase, in which the project identified more precisely the type of violence targeted from the multiple types of violence that women are exposed to in different societies, it focused on physical violence and presented a proposed “logo” for the project and tested its suitability for the idea of ​​the project, then re-worked on “submitting proposals and A portfolio of solutions" focusing on physical violence through a table presenting the objectives, implementation proposals for each objective, proposed indicators for measuring performance, project partners, channels used, proposed sources of funding, and an initial estimate of the cost of financing these proposals during their implementation stages,

Also, a "proposed model" was created for the website, which will include many means of communication and information technology that will be used to confront physical violence against women, and its suitability for confronting this physical violence was tested, and an individual interview was held for each person in the target group to ensure the accuracy of the information and preserve privacy Each member of the sample, and finally, the team proposed a structure for managing electronic governance to follow up the effective management of the project.
