Within the framework of Ain Shams University's participation in the activities of the Conference of the States Parties (COP27 Climate Summit), Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, reviewed the sustainable university projects to transform into a green university, Shams Be Green, in a session held in the green zone of the Conference of States Parties in the Green Creativity Zone of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability at the university, reviewed the university’s plan to reach a green university, and all university research, educational and training efforts, digitization processes and developments in the medical field were reviewed.
Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, has a number of international partnerships and competitions, during which the Faculty has achieved first places that serve environmental applications.
As indicated by Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Donia, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research, praised the faculty's efforts to go green.
In the interest of the university administration for the participation of its students, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, delegated ten distinguished sons of the university to attend the Conference of the States Parties in Sharm El-Sheikh and to participate in many events in the Green Zone, in the belief of Ain Shams University in the necessity of developing awareness and awareness of its students about global environmental issues, as well as developing and refining the students’ personality by direct communication with their peers from different countries of the world. Familiarize them with the latest international environmental applications and the various applied fields of their specializations.
The session was attended by a number of prominent Egyptian and foreign personalities interested in environmental affairs and many of the university's partners.
